Duncan Hunter: Welcome to Free Republic ("Virtual Press Conference" to be held with Freepers)

Posted on 07/03/2007 11:25:59 AM PDT by Ultra Sonic 007

You heard right.

Freeper "pissant" has been in a discussion recently with Sam Hunter, Duncan Hunter's youngest son and a Freeper with the username "Duncan Hunter Ambassador". He was, for a short time, answering questions on behalf of Freepers for a month or so earlier this year until work at the main campaign office became supremely hectic (also, since Hunter's other son returned to active duty, his workload was shifted to Sam).

However, in lieu of the Weekly Answers Thread, Sam Hunter and pissant have managed to arrange something fantastic, with the support of the Jimrob.

In a couple of weeks, a "virtual press conference" will be held here on Free Republic. Before then, Freepers will be able to ask questions for Duncan Hunter to answer. Hunter will answer 15 questions and will relay the answers to Sam or pissant. This will be before the virtual press conference.

pissant will announce the date of the press conference a few days in advance. On the day of the press conference, the 15 questions and Hunter's answers will be posted in a brand new thread.

Here's the best part: Duncan Hunter will remain anywhere from an hour to 90 minutes to chat and converse with Freepers, answering any additional questions they might have. The full details of the press conference are still in the works, but they'll gel together over the next several days.

Any follow-up questions that aren't answered will be answered by Sam in the following days/weeks. They will posted in the same thread as the virtual press conference.

Let's make sure to give them a warm welcome for taking the time to come here and talk with We The People!

He won’t be here for a while. In the meantime, there’s no problem with just giving you tidbits about his record.

I understand that he “won’t be here for a while”

but why not save the tidbits until he speaks for himself?

I appreciate your willingness to speak on his behalf, but this thread is about him speaking for himself....right?

Because he chaired the Armed Services Committee, and is a ranking member, he is just the person we need at this time in our history. He hasn’t had his head in the sand. He knows what kind of enemy we are facing, and he knows the men on the ground. He will be a leader they respect. He will give the presidency an honesty and integrity that hasn’t been seen in awhile. Bush has been right on much, but he is too willing to compromise our sovereignty. Hunter will guard our sovereignty like a lion.

This is what we need.

Please pick one of them as your main question. Chances are slim that any freeper will get 2 answered ahead of time, but possibly could be in the live follow up. thanks.

What’s that they say?

You know you’re over the target when your getting flack.

Courtesy comment:

I’ve been posting to forums for nearly a year that Chertoff dosen’t instill the confidence that a leader of the Homeland Security Department must have to be taken seriously.

Chertoff started playing politics and the blame game during Katrina and has only gotten worse.

In my lowly red state wannabe opinion, Chertoff couldn’t get high enough to lick the cow plop off Duncan Hunters boots.

Chertoff is a political flunky willing to do the bidding of who ever pays his way.

Duncan stands for confidence and doing whats right for America.

There hasn't been a Senator who was a President since President Kennedy. A Representative hasn't been President ever, if I recall correctly. Since the 20th century, a large majority of the Presidents have been governors - largely because of their administrative experience.

LBJ, a senator, defeated Goldwater, a senator, after Kennedy was assassinated. Nixon's prior experience included a couple of years as a rep. and a couple of years as a senator. Carter was a governor, enough said. Ford was a lifelong rep before being appointed Pres. My guess is very few voters base their decision on perceived administrative experience. They probably assume without thinking about it that administration is done by cabinet officers. Of all the declared candidates and Thompson, I think only T. Thompson and Richardson have gubernatorial experience, and one has no chin and the other's a Clinton buttboy.

Perhaps a 1 time Ping List might be a good idea.

I’d like to be hailed to that thread.

Give us your best question. If it’s one of the top 15, we’ll include it. Thanks

I will have to think of a good one and come back to post it. Oh no, the pressure!

GO HUNTER!!!

Ultra, thanks for sending out advance notice.

Pissant, thank you very much for working something out between Duncan Hunter and Jim R.

I’m just hoping it’s around the afternoon, maybe 5:30 or 6:00 so the most FReepers can put their attention towards it.

Thank you pissant for your work. I have written to the communications director myself asking him to do something like this and I’m glad to see that you have scored this great event for all of us.

DH Rocks!

Q: Would a President Hunter pardon Ramos and Campion?

Awwwwww . . . Tommy Thompson had the intestinal fortitude to take on welfare when no one else was. Wisconsin’s welfare rolls have been cut 92% since I read somewhere. He shouldn’t be slammed at all. He’s a good man. I like Hunter, I like both Thompsons . . .

Bump. Second question for me:

We know you are strong on border security, national security, and fair trade. What other issues are of particular importance to you?
