You heard right.
Freeper "pissant" has been in a discussion recently with Sam Hunter, Duncan Hunter's youngest son and a Freeper with the username "Duncan Hunter Ambassador". He was, for a short time, answering questions on behalf of Freepers for a month or so earlier this year until work at the main campaign office became supremely hectic (also, since Hunter's other son returned to active duty, his workload was shifted to Sam).
However, in lieu of the Weekly Answers Thread, Sam Hunter and pissant have managed to arrange something fantastic, with the support of the Jimrob.
In a couple of weeks, a "virtual press conference" will be held here on Free Republic. Before then, Freepers will be able to ask questions for Duncan Hunter to answer. Hunter will answer 15 questions and will relay the answers to Sam or pissant. This will be before the virtual press conference.
pissant will announce the date of the press conference a few days in advance. On the day of the press conference, the 15 questions and Hunter's answers will be posted in a brand new thread.
Here's the best part: Duncan Hunter will remain anywhere from an hour to 90 minutes to chat and converse with Freepers, answering any additional questions they might have. The full details of the press conference are still in the works, but they'll gel together over the next several days.
Any follow-up questions that aren't answered will be answered by Sam in the following days/weeks. They will posted in the same thread as the virtual press conference.
Let's make sure to give them a warm welcome for taking the time to come here and talk with We The People!
Not within any current understanding of Constitutional law. "Under the jurisdiction of the United States" has always been held to include illegal aliens.
"No plausible distinction with respect to Fourteenth Amendment "jurisdiction" can be drawn between resident aliens whose entry into the United States was lawful, and resident aliens whose entry was unlawful."
Plyer v. Doe, 457 U.S. 202 (1982).
Legislation won't overrule this dicta - it will take a Constitutional Amendment.
No, we can force the courts to revisti a decision. It’s been done many times.
Goooolllyyyy you two. This is great!
Mr. Hunter has absolutely no executive experience. To this point, he has only been a legislator. How has he been prepared to oversee an administration, which is a very different task than being a Congressman?
You can't force the Supreme Court to grant certiorari, and even this court is unlikely to overturn that proposition.
That’s a serious question?
Will Mr. Hunter fight back against unfounded attacks from the left?
Sounds great. If I’m not already on the relevant Hunter PING LIST can someone make sure I’m on it?
I am a Hunter supporter. I’ve watched the videos at the www.gohunter08.com , think Mr. Hunter has the look of a President and is articulate. He’s been a consistent conservative.
My question for Duncan Hunter is this: You worked, as I understand it, as a public interest lawyer helping Mexican immigrants for free with their legal needs in California when you started out in a legal career. Is this correct and can you explain how this informs your current views on immigration?
Thanks much!!
excellent question!!!
well done indeed..............congrats all !!!!!!!!!!!
A new law would force the courts into action.
I just want to thank him for being a rock solid man with principals and giving us a good choice in this election.
Did Eisenhower have executive experience? I don’t know if he had run for any elected office after the war or not. His experience was limited to military experience, I seem to recall.
Gotta brush up on my history!
Keep us posted on day and time!!
Reasonable question, Jude.
Would Hunter be interested in serving in a Cabinet level position (or maybe even as vice president) if he doesn’t win the nomination?
Over here.
General of the Army gives executive experience. Being a low level officer, even in the Rangers, is only middle management.
I’d call head of the aliied command to be uber executive experience.
