As Mark Twain might say, reports of the Immigration Bill's death have been highly exaggerated.
The bill might have been killed for the second time, but today's Wall Street Journal reports that at least three key parts of it may still have life (one of which, the Dream Act, I've previously written about). Yes, it's like Freddy Kruger. The bill never completely dies. These, too, must be killed:

Damn it! I knew those sneaky bastards would try and pull another fast one.
Since these three “ideas” were incorporated in the amnesty bill, do they strip out all the other stuff (including ENFORCEMENT) and go forward with just these three things?
Were these three “ideas” separate bills and they still are? If this is the case, who are the sponsors.
Or, do we now have three brand news bill introduced. If so, who are the sponsors.
Sorry, I’m a little confused on how this works.

I read today (can’t find the article) 9.5 million Mexicans have been issued a *secure* card to enter the US within 25 miles of the border and others for travel anywhere in the US for up to 6 months.
Because of the massive traffic jams, only about 2% of these cards are even scanned.
They still haven't figured out that the Sleeping Giant has awoken.

That is a different Dream Act. The one above belongs to Senators Hatch and Kennedy. Mrs. Clinton’s “avoid the police” dream act also incldues the free tuition for illegals provision.

That is EXACTLY how it is done.
Some of us have been saying for years that there is no shortage of qualified engineers in this country, and there isn’t.
Just like with the low skilled manual labor type jobs, it’s about CHEAP labor.
Unfortunately our Congress folks have a proven track record of lying about this issue - so I have a knee-jerk reaction to reject anything from their desks until the government actually implements some real actions to stem the tide of illegal immigration: e.g., build the wall; move more enforcement to the borders; shut-down 'sanctuary cities'; get rid of the anchor baby provision; stop providing in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens; aggressively penalize employers who utilize illegal labor; etc...
Do these things for a couple of years, and then lets talk about these reasonable proposals...
Funny, I don’t see any of the CLOSE THE FREAKING BORDER components in that list.

These bums would just keep on trying till they push it through, one way or the other.
I don’t see anything about setting up an effective and mandatory system of checking ID’s, to get around the huge document fraud being perpetrated by illegals.
Or anything else that would lead to better enforcement. If we had enforcement, we wouldn’t have to deport 12 million illegals (Actually, its probably closer to 20 million.) If they couldn’t get jobs and couldn’t get freebies, they’d deport themselves.
