Ms. Edwards knows the only time her husband got any real press during this campaign is when Ann Coulter mentioned him.
This is an attempt to salvage a dying campaign.

Rather surprised that article referenced Maher’s comment. It’s left out of the discussion most of the time.
Not a fan of Ann’s comment though. It served no constructive purpose at all.

By saying what no one else dares to say, she gives the rest of the commentators space to address the issues that otherwise would be taboo.

I’m not sure that the conservative cause is helped by Coulter immitating Bill Maher.

I agree.
Ann Coulter seems to be sliding past the moniker of “conservative commentator” and is moving towards “conservative demagogue”.

Not a fan of Anns comment though. It served no constructive purpose at all. Coulter no doubt hopes the comment serves the only purpose she's interested in at the moment. Sell her new book.

That’s certainly a major aspect, but I do think she was also trying to point out the hypocrisy of the left by mimicking Maher.
Still, it was a dumb comment. She could have made that point in so many other ways that would have been more effective and less offensive. Leave wishing for the death of Americans to the left.

She isn't imitating Bill Maher. She made a comment some time ago about Edwards' manliness and Edwards' wife reprimanded her, telling her that she was cheapening the debate.
Coulter's response was that maybe she should just start saying that she wished Edwards was killed by terrorists, since Bill Maher said that about the Vice President and no one made as big a deal about that as they have made about Coulter calling Edwards a girl.
As usual, Ann made a witty comment about media double standards and, as usual, her words are being twisted.

The Dummies have already been there.
We have some work to do.
