5 U.N. Peacekeepers Killed in Lebanon
New York Times ^ | June 25, 2007

BEIRUT, Lebanon, June 24 — A car bombing killed five United Nations peacekeepers in southern Lebanon on Sunday, opening another potentially disastrous fault line in a country held hostage to violence and political deadlock.

No one claimed responsibility for the attack on the peacekeepers, who were deployed along the border with Israel after last summer’s war with Hezbollah. But suspicion immediately fell on militant Islamists, who are fighting the Lebanese Army in the country’s north. The United Nations force, Unifil, has been on alert for weeks because of that fight and several bombings that are believed to be related to it.

The attack hit two United Nations vehicles on a main road near the southern town of Khiyam. Witnesses said ammunition in at least one of the vehicles exploded after the initial blast.

I hope God embraces the murdered “peacekeepers” in his loving arms. I hope their families can find comfort as soon as possible. I hope there comes a time when the world realizes that Muslims have no respect for anyone, and cannot be dealt with peacefully.

But suspicion immediately fell on militant Islamists, who...

...dwarf the UNaccountable bureacrats and their peacekeepers.

I read about this in the Spanish press. Spain lost a soldier to a bombing in Afghanistan last week, too, their first female soldier KIA.

Also, I read in the Spanish press that Alan Johnson, the BBC reporter kidnapped in the Gaza Strip, was shown this weekened in a video produced by the merry Muslims wearing a bomb vest. In the video, he says that if any attempt is made to rescue him, they will blow him up. What a great bunch of folks Muslims are! What a religion of peace!

I wonder what the criteria is for U.N. peacekeeper involvement? Iraq has elected and established a reconized government that seeks to co-exist with the threee main tribal sects within it’s borders. What is the U.N. excuse for not sending in peacekeepers now?

See, now that’s one STUPID muzzie. Why would Hezbollah blow up UN “peacekeepers” that have done nothing but sit back and allow them to rearm and launch rockets into Israel?

The “peacekeepers” are only there to keep Israel from responding to Hezbollah. They do nothing to keep Hezbollah from their stated purpose of killing Jews.

Well, first of all, the Iraqi government has made no demand for UN peacekeepers in Iraq, contrary to its Lebanese counterparts.
