HH: Now Senator Kyl, why the attacks on talk radio from your colleagues, Senators Lott and Graham? It doesnt, in any event, it cannot possibly help the party, and it cant help the bill. What are they thinking?
JK: You know, I hate to speak for my colleagues, but I can suggest in the case of Senator Lott, because Ive talked to him about it, is just said in frustration. If you look at it from his standpoint and mine, there is so much misinformation, and by the way, a plug for you, whatever your feelings on the legislation, youve tried very hard to get facts out. I mean, you just asked me a series of about eight questions that are designed to elicit information.
HH: Right.
JK: Well, not all talk radio is quite that constructive. And Im afraid that theres some of my friends who, for ratings or whatever purposes, have chosen to ignore some of the facts, and stress some things that were incorrect.
Senators to pressure:
Lamar Alexander (Tennessee); Robert Bennett (Utah); Thad Cochran (Mississippi); Norm Coleman (Minnesota); Susan Collins (Maine); Larry Craig (Idaho); Pete Domenici (New Mexico); Judd Gregg (New Hampshire); Orrin Hatch (Utah); Jon Kyl (Arizona); Trent Lott (Mississippi); Mitch McConnell (Kentucky.); Lisa Murkowski (Alaska); Olympia Snowe (Maine); Ted Stevens (Alaska); and John Warner (Virginia).
Senators who say they will vote no on cloture:
Saxby Chambliss (Georgia)
Johnny Isakson (Georgia)
Kay Bailey Hutchison (Texas)
“Go figure-Senator Kyls home state is on the border flashpoint with Mexico, and yet Senator Sessions, whose state is not a border state sees the truth much better.”
Kyl sees it too, trust me. It’s just that there is no pay-off in acknowledging it (or standing up like a REAL man, and listening to his constituents.)
Rather than death, we should turn it into reform. Kick all RINOs and other non conservatives out of the big tent.
Shrink the big tent!
If the Senators would listen to talk radio, they might get a feeling as to what is right for this country and what the people want. As it is, most of them are clueless.
You’re right-as much as I disagree with his stance, at least Senator McCain has been out front and honest with his opinion on the amnesty issue and not backed down. However, unlike McCain, Sen. Kyl has done a high-dive backflip and turned off a lot of his constituents.
I would love to see him challenged for re-election by either J.D. Hayworth or Bill Goldwater.
I’m not. But so long as RINOs use “we must win the next election” as a tactic to dupe conservatives, there is no way to break the cycle. To break the cycle, we must accept, temporarily, being in a numerical minority. We must shrink the tent even if it means losing in ‘08. That is exactly what the left did. They did it over years and year, and look at how much they gained by doing it. I will write no more on this, Dim operatives read this forum. Strategery .... ;)
Ask people you know that came here to become citizens for their opinions about this for yourself. They have words to say that the sanate should hear.
“As it is, most of them are clueless.”
I disagree. They thought WE were clueless.
All this talk about banning talk radio tells me they have realized they have lost control over the information that we are “allowed” to see.
Talk radio. The internet. Word about back room “deals” are now traveling at the speed of light across the country and they don’t know how to stop it.
Twenty years ago none of us would have known anything about it until it was a done deal. It will never be that way again.
They are scared, and they should be.
Their idea of a big tent doesn’t include conservatives. Or maybe if we hide up in the attic and just come out once every two or four years.
For sure! I guess they will be complaining about the internet next!
Tony Snow....a Talk Radio Person.....what has he said about Talk Radio?
Well said!!!!
Kyl should NEVER TRUST A KENNEDY!! Kennedy is DESTROYING HIM.
ONLY the CLOTURE VOTE IS IMPORTANT!!! If the RINOs vote AGAINST CLOTURE and then vote AGAINST the BILL, then the bill PASSES. They need to be told to vote AGAINST CLOTURE!!!
He probably likes little boys.
Tell MaCain... he made the offer. Maybe he'll sign you up, and if your back hurts after a while, you can go on worker's comp and make that corrupt sob pay for that too.
