BTW: I read somewhere, that Wallace received many many emails regarding the video he played last week, and manyof those will be read today. So look forward to some positive reporting on the Remember Me video that was played last week.

Interview with Patraeus is still going on.
He says he is not backing away from giving an assessment in Washington (an answer to Wallace’s observation that some in Washington are).
To: Laverne
Thanks, Laverne. My pleasure.

Thanks, Laverne. I’ll remember to keep him on for the power player segment.
Timmy read’s Reid’s remarks about Pace and Petraeus. EJ Dionne dismisses it as nothing out of the ordinary.
Kate O’Beirne jumps in in defense of Petraeus. Says it is not smart of Reid to pick on generals by name.

Byron York pointing out that some of the dissatisfaction with the war from the right was due to our failure to appear to be actually fighting it.

Ah I see. NO proof at all. Just accept the dogma, no questioning allowed! Funny how much the "Conservatives" have become just like the Hysteric Left. When the facts don't fit the dogma, simply deny the facts
How about a bit of common reasoning. No Senator is going to change their vote, unless they are promised something. That is the stuff politics is made of -- and they call it compromise.

Towards the end of the interview, Patreaus praises our troops...something a good leader always does; he also gives some praise to the Iraqi’s who really are trying, despite what the media says.
Bottom line last question: Do you feel we can win. Patreaus responds, if I didn’t think we could, I wouldn’t be here in Iraq.

Thanks to FR, talk radio and a few others, the immigration bill should go nowhere unless the critters are totally deaf, dumb and blind or they do the midnight shuffle when no one is watching.

He’s spot on...no wonder the DBM ignores him on this issue. It would shatter their self creatd echo chamber.

Dionne says the country is evenly divided on “immigration.” I do not believe this is correct. I think most Americans approve of legal immigration and I think a significant majority are opposed to illegal immigration. They always conflate the two to obfuscate the issue.

Wallace asks Patreaus: "Can we win...leave behind a free, stable and Democratic Iraq?"
Patreaus: "Yes. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be here leading the finest of America’s men and women putting their lives on the line".
Patreaus came across very well in this interview. Solid, no nonsense, with a very thorough understanding of the military and political challenges in Iraq. He’s impressive.
To: Bahbah; TomGuy; All
Yeah we’re divided...but not in the way E.J. thinks.
The divide is between the American people...and the Politicians and special interest groups.
