The Talk Shows
Sunday, June 17th, 2007
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Gen. David Petraeus, U.S. commander in Iraq.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Ryan Crocker, U.S. ambassador to Iraq.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sens. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Carl Levin, D-Mich.; former Rep. Lee Hamilton, D-Ind., co-chairman of the Iraq Study Group.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sens. Joe Biden, D-Del., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.; actor Martin Sheen.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari; Sens. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Jack Reed, D-R.I.; investigative reporter Seymour Hersh; Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif.
Happy Father’s Day to Daddies everywhere!
Biden and Sheen (TV actor-President is ok to ABC).
'balanced' by Graham. Can you say, 'agenda'?
Curious, eh... that Petreus is ONLY on FOX
and Carl Levin, D-Mich????
He’s still alive? We haven’t seen that fat communist slob in our territory in 20 years or more. Levin is simple-minded vapidity in heart, mind and soul. And he perfectly reflects the make-up of the majority in this state who continue to return this vacant thing to the senate.
That is because he is always showing up on the Sunday shows to let everyone know how badly America is losing the war. I think he is moving up into the McCain/Biden/Hagel level of Sunday News Show guest.
"I am Elmer J. Fudd - millionaire. I own a mansion and a yacht."
That is unkind to Elmer Fudd. Did you notice that the Warner Brothers cartoons of yore had a better grasp of the free market than educated news readers?
Will post last week’s awards in a few minutes was going to sort them last night but a friend came round for the evening
"I was summoned to the office of National Security adviser Sandy Berger,
who chewed me out for not having a national security adviser (on the West Wing).
So I opened the next season with Anna Deavere Smith as the national security adviser" -
Aaron Sorkin
Two observations:
First, while I agree the War in Iraq is, and always be, a primary concern, isn’t there something going on in Washington regarding immigration?
And secondly, please remind me to tune in to ABC this morning. I surely wouldn’t want to miss that. On second thought, I think I’ll wash my socks.
Radio talk-show host Michael Gallagher is responsible for FNS' "Power Player" Lizzie Palmer's touching video last week.
Today, Fox News Sunday will read from some of the letters about the video that the show has received from relatives of troops.
"It's gotten the attention of the White House," Wallace said, "and she may be invited there."
Considering the vote totals here on this issue in the US House, does anyone really still think the Immigration bill is going anywhere even if it magically manages to pass the US Senate?
Which makes you wonder just what the Bills sponsors think they are accomplishing by keeping this fight going in the US Senate?

Congratulations to the winners
Watching Duke case yesterday. I felt parallels o Libby case. Fitzgerald should be Nifonged. 4th of July would be a good time for Libby-pardon.
Second that. He pursued his case against White House individuals knowing they were not guilty of the non-crime for the sole purpose of creating the appearance of a crime. He could not have done this without the active complicity of the media.
Get ready for some great soundbites from Petreaus. He wasn’t holding anything back about what Harry The Body said about him the other day. I expec more of the same today.
It would appear today that ABC is giving an excellent definition of what “Echo Chamber” means.
