THe latest Free Republic poll shows 7.8% of FReepers and Lurkers supporting Rudy Giuliani for the GOP presidential nomination in 2008.
Rudy supports the killing of babies, gay marriage and massive gun 'control'. These are views he has never hidden.
Can somebody - anybody - please explain to me how any conservative can support a candidate with such views?
One would be too many - but 7.8%????

Some will compromise their principals for an end goal, think of it as agreeing to rob a bank, walking out with a million dollars and then have to live with the fact someone got shot and killed during the process.

It’ll be a bigger yawn if you have to choose between Rudy and Hitlery come November next year...

No...I would vote for Daffy Duck over Hillary Clinton...so it won’t be a problem at all.

If Rudy gets the nomination, Daffy Duck would be a better candidate!

Chalk the 7.8% up to campaign workers.

If it came down to Hitlery and Satan Incarnate in the general election, I will heartily cast a vote for Lucifer and drag 10 friends, neighbors, coworkers, family members down to the polls to do likewise.
Hopefully it will not come down to that.

(Fred Thompson - I trust Fred to do the right things)
To: Aussie Dasher
Frankly, I like Duncan Hunter the more I hear about him, but that's too little and few and far between he can get any word out on what he's about.
So right now, I'm in favor of Fred Thompson. He's saying the right things and obviously knows how to work the media. We need someone who knows how to get his message out. Good intentions are fine, the ability to express them and convince others is the piece most often missing. We need a communicator in the White House.
Fred does seem to be campaigning on uniting conservatives. What would people think about a Thompson/Hunter ticket? Imagine a 24 year run in the oval office, maybe it could happen?

Are you forgetting that there are "social" conservatives and also "fiscal/governmental" conservatives, and sometimes a person is a conservative but not both?

Because they don’t want to see Hillary or Obama get in the White House.

I dont want Rudy and dont understand those that do, but then I dont understand how any Democrat could want either of their front runners either.
Maybe the Hildabeast will be convicted of campaign fraud and locked up. Well: I can dream cant I?
