Hear that giant sucking sound -- It is the sound of a rapidly growing political vacuum on the Right in this country...
Free Republic is an amazing resource with many thousands of members.
Why not harness that resource and start our own third party with *REAL* conservative principles.
The Republican Party may have left a lot of us recently - but that does not necessarily mean that we have to leave our conservative principles.
Out of this large principled group, there has to be someone that is able to create a new party and make it a new force in national politics.
Qualifications: REAL conservative; Clean background; and the ability to clearly Communicate ideas to the American people.
Any takers?? You would have the beginnings of an organization with thousands of volunteers already in place in every state of the Union.
Thank you. You are 100% correct. This is the ONLY way to advance our agenda.
If Amnesty goes through--do you think there is time?
Sorry, it’s been tried. We got 8 years of Bill Clinton as a result.
Hello Ross
The posts promoting retaking the republican party through proper conservative voting is the way to go. The party machinery is already in place, and we already have a group here as like minded freepers (for the most part) with some influence as it is. As soon as FreeRepublic itself is regarded as a political party, the legal and financial rules governing the existence of this forum will change drastically and for the worse. Let’s just trow da bums out.
We don’t need a new party. I’m afraid. We need a new country. This one is broken beyond repair. I suggest we gather a bunch of freepers and form a new government, based on the founder’s principals.
Speaking of that A-Hole, where is he? Since he was against NAFTA, you would think he would have something to say about the Amnesty Bill
Now the Human Hand Grenade with the bad haircut can sit back on his Texas estate, cackling and gleefuly rubbing his hands together as he slips further and further into insanity.
I believe when principle conservative ideas are presented to people correctly and with passion and conviction, people naturally will be attracted to them
Reagan proved it can be done. It can happen again.
Our current batch of quasi-rino conservatives are corrupt and feckless
Some would want to exclude:
Masons,Knights of Colombus, Lions, Rotary, Elks, Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Blacks, Whites, Latinos, Asians, the uneducated, over educated, Lawyers, Doctors, Indian Chiefs, drinkers, cussers, bald headed people and the list goes on.
Personally the fun of cleaning up the Republican party has just begun.
I want to stay around and tell the RINO’s that “I told you so”, while brandishing a big smile as they pack their stupid duds to leave their cushy jobs in Washington D.C.
Payback will be so sweet for the their (RINO’s) scumbag low life arrogance against the base.
I will stand on the corner and yell at them as they get in their taxis: “Life's a B!tch and then you die”.
No yet.... I just became a “Friend of Fred” I got my letter and everything.
1. Don’t feed the buggers for a week.
2. Stick an open tin of sardines down your pants.
If you’re still alive to reach step 3..
3. Run!
Herding Freepers would be much MUCH harder unless they really like sardines.
Perhaps you should think smaller.
You could try to start a third party there in your home state of Colorado.
Good luck!
Points well taken
This is political suicide. How do you ever intend to get enough votes to win an election? The truth is we all need each other in order to win anything.
You nailed it. Divide and conquer, divide and conquer it works every time.
I think this is an issue, that while tempting, ould be wisest on an off-election. IE- try voting someone of the Freerepublican party into a congressional or mayoral seat first.
Grass roots this thing, but time it.
Durring a major election would be political suicide, as many are stating.
Hunter for one is a solid Conservative, clean record, very articulate, has a strong military background, has influence in the right places and knows how to use it (for the good of the country!) and is not afraid to go up against the Kennedy wing of the Party! He is bar none the strongest on the border issue.
Saying he can’t win, is just saying you don’t think your support will help him win. If everyone, especially now with this Amnesty bill on the line, supports him along with our letters and calls to those in Washington, HE will get that fence built!
I see that as a much better possibility than starting another party.
A bunch of politicians in D.C. does not the Republican Party make! There are more of us than them.
