No worries. The enviro commies already anticipated that and renamed it “climate change”

The researcher suggests that atmospheric carbon dioxide -- often thought of as a key "greenhouse gas" -- is not the cause of global warming. The opposite is most likely to be true, according to Robert Essenhigh, E.G. Bailey Professor of Energy Conservation in Ohio State's Department of Mechanical Engineering. It is the rising global temperatures that are naturally increasing the levels of carbon dioxide, not the other way around, he says.
Where's ndt - he can explain this stuff better than anyone else I knowtm.

He/she has a novel approach to explaining this to a layman ...

This why the Greens are so hysterical about getting all these new laws passed so they can take credit for the natural cooling to come starting in 10 years. They cant wait to tell us how they saved the earth from burning up.

What say you? Thought you might be interested in this (and if it sounds familiar, it has come up before on this forum).

By the time the global warming reverses itself, the liberals will claim that it’s the results of their deed!

I am a baseball researcher.

My data clearly reveals a roughly twenty-year cycle in the rise and fall of baseball offense -- driven chiefly by the home run rate (by definition, balls hit in the air).

The cycle is evident not only in the major leagues, but in the minor leagues -- so it is a national pattern, not a local one.

The cycle closely corresponds to the 22-yr sunspot cycle. The peak in these offensive cycles generally corresponds to widespread drought in the Midwest (i.e., the 30's, 50's, currently).

Over time, the data is also affected by different park configurations, improvement in equipment and, perhaps (but only perhaps), PEDs (performance enhancing drugs).

However, these are clearly secondary effects -- the waves and swells of the baseball ocean, so to speak. The twenty (or so) year cycle I'm referring to is analogous to the ocean tides -- a much longer period and a greater amplitude.

The travel of a batted ball -- and, even more important, the movement of a pitched ball) -- is primarily subject to air density. Air density, in turn, is a function of a.) temperature b. altitude, and c.) storm fronts. And, yes, if you ever see a game interrupted by a thunderstorm, you will note that there is usually more offensive activity before the front passes through than after.

There are, no doubt, much longer climate cycles. But there is demonstrably a twenty-year (or so) cycle that is seemingly driven by the sun and sunspot activity -- producing generally higher temperatures worldwide.

Which is to say, I've got more convincing evidence that "man-made global warming" is a sham than its proponents have that it is real.

"If there are flaws in these propositions, I'm listening," he wrote in his Chemical Innovation paper. "But if there are objections, let's have them with the numbers."

Well at least the professor is open to scientific debate.

Al Gore told me the "discussion is over"

This is a viewpoint? As a Geologist and one whom earns his living studying climate change, I can assure you, it is a fact...Global temperatures have changed by plus or minus 10 degrees in the last 75 million years....(several times)

10-20 years is long enough for the left to use it to destroy capitalist economies and institute socialism. Unfortunately, when they do that the time-frame of the damage is likely to be far longer.

We can’t do a thing to change the climate but if it goes back to a serious ice age that will be a real challenge to civilization. Let it warm, let it warm, let it warm.

One of the natural processes of a planet coming out of an ice age is for it to heat up.

Essenhigh knows that his scientific opinion is a minority one. As far as he knows, he's the only person who's linked global warming and carbon dioxide in this particular way. But he maintains his evaluations represent an improvement on those of the majority opinion, because they are logically rigorous and includes water vapor as a far more significant factor than in other studies.

"If there are flaws in these propositions, I'm listening," he wrote in his Chemical Innovation paper. "But if there are objections, let's have them with the numbers."

This is the way science is supposed to work.

Whenever someone argues by claiming a “consensus of scientists,” or by attacking motives, or attacking the individual, they are making invalid arguments.

On this topic, global warming alarmists have clearly given inadequate attention to clouds, and to the sun. Variations in the Earth's orbit and variability stemming from the Earth’s molten core should be investigated further. The current climate hype focuses on one effect, carbon dioxide.

Carbon dioxide is necessary for life and is no more a pollutant than oxygen. At less that .04% of the atmosphere, it is more likely that we have too little carbon dioxide than too much.
