” VOW to the 58,000 + Brothers and Sisters on The Viet Nam Wall who never came home and to those who died at home from injuries and from broken hearts. I will do everything I LEGALLY can to expose Hanoi Kerry once and for all. I will not tire, I will not falter, and I will not fail. I solemnly vow to do all I can to restore your honor until I give my last breath on earth. 68-69TonkinGulfYachtClub”
A remarkable man!!
Well, darn. Just darn. *sigh* Darn.
I appreciate all the times he’d patiently answer my questions, no matter how many times I pinged him, whether he wanted it or not! ;-) And appreciate all the Canteen work he did. He was a good man.
Prayers for his family and FRiends and friends.
I’m glad he’s been released from his earthly bonds, and I hope he’s found the peace he so deserves.
Godspeed Tonk.
Thank you, potlatch.
What a beautiful pic.
Tonk was, indeed, a very dear and giving man.
Requiescat in pace
Mr. Tonkin, you are loved by all your friends here, but more importantly by Our Savior. May we meet you one day as we worship Him together.
Great guy, talked with him much.
One of the great FR handles too.
Farewell and R.I.P.
He was a great patriot, who saw clearly what he needed to do for his country...and then simply went about doing it.
God grant that we will find many, many more such partiots, yea, by the tens of millions.
May a merciful God in Heaven, and loving Savior, rest his worthy soul, and may He comfort his family and loved ones, sure in the knowledge that the separation is but a temporary one, and that we shll all be reunited one day back in our true home.
We will miss you Tonk, Bravo Zulu my friend!
My God, why did you take our brother?
Angles took the wrong one - not him - another.
Regret is a feeling that we feel everyday;
You took him from us, and we didn’t say -
“We Love You, Brian,” in my own way;
Only to hear him say it back to us.
God, why couldn’t you just let us be?
He didn’t deserve to die;
Didn’t deserve to be in pain,
Only to leave us here asking you why -
Night after night when we cry in vain.
May we all find comfort in the sure and certain knowledge of the resurection on that Glorious Day when the Curtain of death is at last parted and the faithful through all ages are reunited.
Prayers! Rest in Peace.
Rest in peace, Mr. Tonkin. God Bless the family.
FR was blessed to have such a man in our midst, and his family even more so.
God Bless you all.
The posts Mr. Tonkin made to me were always encouraging toward my veteran husband. I really appreciated all his efforts to support veterans and his kindness to me. Thank you. A very special freeper has passed.
God bless Tonk! You were one of the few sane people on this board. I’ll miss you. May the Lord keep you and your family close! Rest in peace soldier.
He might have stuck around until after fireworks season ...
I’ve missed Tonk every day!!
That is a GREAT picture!!
Tonk will be sorely missed, and he will be remembered in our prayers.
