Why Did C-SPAN Blacklist Savage?
TBP | Now | Moi

Posted on 06/12/2007 12:42:17 PM PDT by TBP

Michael Savage, the #3 most listened to talk-show host in America, was honored by Talkers Magazine, the "Bible" of talk radio, with this year's Freedom of peech Award.

Recently, Talkers held a bash at which they presented the award. C-SPAN, which claims to be nonpartisan and nonideological, was there and carried most of the speeches. But for some reason, it blacklisted Savage's speech accepting the award.

Why would a nonideological network do this? More liberal media bias, obviously. C-SPAN has now willingly made itself part of the liberal effort to suppress freedom of speech in this country.

Last I heard Levin was at #20. Even Alan Colmes has higher ratings (which is sad, so sad)!

Yes

Yes

Yes

Yes!!!!!!! Along with all true conservatives in this country, as how the broad paint brush of the liberals in this country paint conservatives every time Savage opens his mouth. The detriment of his diatribes knows no bounds.

When noone speaks out for what conservative values really are, when all the demagoguery that comes out of the DemoncRat party is hardly ever disputed, then people have only that which is placed in front of them to make decisions on.

So because Bush is a failure, people like Ann Coulter and Michael Savage should shut up out of fear for saying something that draws attention to their defense of conservative values out of fear of offending the very Leftists who are demagoging?

Is that what you are saying?

People like Savage provide the reasons for hating conservatives in this country, and I believe this is done purposefully. The very extreme nature of this guy reeks to me

So in other words, if people like Ann Coulter wrote as boringly as George Will and Robert Novak they should get as little attention as Will and Novak do and no one would hear her/their objections to the demogogues.

Great idea, sport!

Was he doing one of his freeform, free association things where he plays a loop of music and just goes for it? To me you have to give credit to a guy who’s willing to take that kind of risk in front of a national audience. Savage is out there, and of course it’s fashionable to diss him, but I can’t help but like him.

You need to learn the word “Pretext”. You are naive.

Pretext (n) something serving to conceal plans; a fictitious reason that is concocted in order to conceal the real reason

I have tried on several occasions to call Brian Lamb and question him about the line policy. Of course, he will not take the call. He is a snake/dog/low life that passes himself off as the best thing in media.

Madeline Zapeezda schools a Know-Nothing!

It's not a religious or even an ideological issue,

helllooooo....Kosovo is the cradle of their religion, their Jersusalem, their Vatican.

Kosovo is 90% -95% Muslim anyway

Yes little middie, as the result of an extended terror campaign against the Serb, Jew, and Roma population of Kosovo combined with mass illegal immigration as the Albanian economy collapsed.

Let us know when you think we should hand over Aztlan! Using your "reasoning", it's not America anywore.

HUH? What the hell are you talking about? First, I never mentioned Ann Coulter. Second, I never never made any comment that Bush should never be critizised or held accountable for making bone-headed decisions. Third, my last post was about the fact that conservatives have left themselves wide open to being characterized by liberals as what we are not because conservatives don't fight back against those characterizations. I've only made the comment that Savage is not what you Savage-bots believe that he is. My comments only are regarding Savage and what he represents on talk-radio. Your putting words into my mouth won't change my position or my comments. Savage and the world he's created has only served to harm conservatives in this country, not helped them. Open your eyes to this or keep them closed to your detriment.

There’s one he does called “My Head Hurts” where he plays a loop of Rammstein (a German metal band) and just starts kvetching about whatever’s bugging him, branching out from the phrase “my head hurts”. It is completely hilarious.

However, as the 2006 election demonstrated, Republicans will lose elections as a result of the divisions caused by people like Savage and his rantings on the air.

Oh my goodness, you didn't really just say that, did you? So Bush and his total inability to explain Iraq (or just about anything else) to the American people, his arrogant pushing of the Dubai ports deal (and his general disinterest in even explaining his position, despite the public outcry), the corruption of the GOP class of 1994, L'Affair de Foley...all of these were figments of my imagination I suppose since Mike Savage is responsible! Incredible.

Why is it that he supported and provided monetary donations for Jerry (Moonbat) Brown if he’s such a “conservative”?

Did he publicize this or annouce his support for Brown? No, it was revealed by others at a time when Brown was 22 points up in the polls and a shoo-in. Why did he do it? Perhaps to protect his own sizeable CA state business interests by placating a future AG. Why did Bush endorse the extreme pro-abortion and RINO Arlen Specter over diehard conservative Pat Toomey in a close primary race? To get a sure vote on amnesty?
