To celebrate the (temporary?) demise of shamnesty, heres open-borders shill Juan Williams tearing a page from the Bush/Chavez/Chertoff songbook and serenading Mark Steyn with a little quasi-racial demagoguery. He should have at least followed out his own logic, taken it the whole nine yards, and accused him of being a self-hating immigrant.

Juan Williams is no impostor. He is an avowed liberal and there are no surprises from him. Hannity is a different matter, he was trying to explain his position to Mark Steyn and he made a mess of himself. Fox News Channel is the voice of the KENNEDY WING of THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.
They entered the country LEGALLY. They didn't sneak across the border. Juan was right.
Fox should hire a host that does not support the Kennedy Wing of the Republican Party. We need someone to represent the Hunter(aka conservative) Wing.
How is the fact that several of them entered the country legally relevant? That is true of many illegal immigrants. Juan was fundamentally dishonest because he is trying to confabulate the way illegal immigrants entered the country and their legal status at a later time.
It seems you are trying to do the same thing. But none of us are buying it. Sorry.
That doesn’t change the fact that they were illegals when they flew those planes into buildings. They should have been deported as soon as their visas were up, but the federal government refused to enforce the law. Those who don’t want illegals deported give aid and comfort to America’s terrorist enemies.
"Weasel words"? They're ONLY the words defining this debate.
The fact that the 9/11 hijackers overstayed their visas and became illegal is an excellent reason why we should deport them all.
Juan Williams is dead wrong on this, so why worry yourself over what he has said?
Also , the fact that they entered legally before 9/11 says nothing about what they are doing now.
Open borders are crying out for terrorist to enter. If you want to call people who want the laws enforced bigots then you are a fool, or an illegal yourself, or a person who hires illegals or has illegal relatives. Take your pick, you have an agenda and you make no sense with stupid statments about how Juan is right!
So what? That's NOT what this debate is about. It's about Mexicans crossing the border illegally.
And Juan was right about those who want to turn this into a debate about terrorism.
Since Jorge was trying to defend his remarks, we have to point out why he is wrong.
The way they entered this country does not define their legal status on the day they flew those airplanes into those buildings. Your argument is like saying that Ted Bundy should have been set free because back when he was in the Sixth Grade, he hadn't killed anybody yet.
Repeatedly talking about the way an illegal immigrant entered the country instead of acknowledging the fact that he is illegal regardless of how he entered the country is weasely. And you are continuing to do so, even after your error has been pointed out to you many times.
Now, go ahead and tell me the entered the country legally again... That is not the point!
......by the way, I agreed with Juan on his book that took the blacks to task for following Sharpton and Jackson and not cleaning their own house in the vein of Bill Cosby.. Juan at least had that right......
No, the debate is about whether or not we should grant amnesty to illegal aliens. Claiming that the illegal aliens who hijacked planes on 9/11 were once here legally does not bolster your argument at all.
I never called anyone a bigot, nor am I any of these other things you want to accuse me of.
You are in fact typical of the hysterical anti-immigration reform fanactics we see on these boards.
Throwing wild accusations at anyone who disagrees with you. You should be ashamed of yourself.
No. It is about illegal immigration. Not just Mexican border jumpers.
Terrorism is a component of the argument, but not all of the argument, by any means. There are also a number of other legitimate concerns.
But terrorism is a legitimate concern as well. There are lots of good reasons to oppose illegal immigration.
To which Juan Williams was only able to respond by giving one of his trademark dismissive smirks.
Williams's reaction reminded me of one of Ronald Reagan's greatest quotes:
It's not that our Liberal friends are ignorant, it's just that they know so much that isn't so.
Juan Williams personifies that quote. He just "knows" so damn much but he'll never let on that, in reality, he don't know jack.
Total bull. And you know it. Read the bill. Read these threads.
This about Mexicans who've enter the country illegally.
I agree. People should not mischaracterize another person's arguments. You have not called anybody here a bigot, that I know of.
But neither should you mischaracterize other people's arguments by saying our concerns are only related to illegal crossings of the Mexican border.
Was someone arguing in favor of overstaying visas and becoming illegal or are your arguments just becoming more desperate and illogical?
I take it that you'd agree that those whose status changes from legal to illegal should be rounded up?
