But Mike Huckabee messed up bigtime tonight. He said today was Reagans birthday.
Not only that, today is the anniversary of the day Reagan PASSED AWAY.

The others made the decision to jump in way too early. Their strategies may have been to occupy terrain by putting themselves forward from the start - especially that Kennedy wing of the party. But that’s not necessarily the best strategy and doesn’t prevent others from joining later (or being drafted by popular sentiment because the first candidates weren’t all that inspiring). Good for Fred to time things well. I welcome him and hope this herd can start being thinned now.

With Hunter, hes one of my top two choices right now I think he changed more than a few minds tonight.

Good grief - you can disagree with him on foreign policy but the man does espouse a strong conviction for protecting citizens' civil liberties (Bill of Rights). No he doesn't. He advocates doing NOTHING. Do Nothing does NOT protect the Civil Liberties of the public at large. It merely rewards those willing to engage in illegality.
We, as a society, have a right to protect ourselves from those who mean us harm. The instrument of that protect is OUR Govt. Govt of, by and for the people.
People like Paul who are more afraid of the duly elected Govt of the US they they are of terrorists thugs who have the blood of thousands of Americans on their hands are NOT "protecting our civil liberties" but unwittingly aiding the terrorists.

Thanks for reminding me. That’s one of my chief reasons for dismissing McCain himself out of hand.

Hannity pretty much gave Thompson a softball interview. He only challenged him a little on his support for McCain Feingold and voting to acquit Clinton on perjury charges.

Did you see it? It harmed Tancredo more than President Bush. He seemed petty.
I’m sick and tired of my party playing defense.
Tell that to Bush, he started it.

What's your point?
Because if it is that we should ignore human nature, it is very anti-Conservative.

Hey, how did you like Hunter getting in Ramos & Compean for Pardon. It was good, not as strong of a performance as he needed, but better than the previous two outings. He should have called John McCain a traitor to his face, and called for Bush's impeachment, over the shamnesty issue. Nobody, in my opinion, made a significant stink over that.

Tancredo looked very Presidential tonight. But he has a problem with his running away from Vietnam Service.
Hunter had good answers as always but he looked really bad on TV tonight. Worse I’ve seen him.
If Tancredo can overcome that Nam problem ...

I don’t think McCain is a front runner anymore. Sorry, but he’s too old, too “Manchurian Canidateish” and too soft on illegal immigration.
To: dragnet2
Are you a Tancredo man/woman?

Hannity pretty much gave Thompson a softball interviewTypical Hannity.
Thompson would have done better avoiding what appeared to be a debate dodge.
To: rhombus
Exactly. Ignore other Rs, go after Ds and show the Republicans who will be the best candidate to take on the RATS. I want a candidate who will fight the RATS!!
