Joe Scarborough offers his keen insight and classy analysis into today's political scene in an interview this morning with Congressional Quarterly's Craig Crawford. During the Morning Joe program on MS-NBC, Scarborough suggested that Fred Thompson's wife is a whore (via the Palmetto Scoop):
SCARBOROUGH: Have you seen Fred Thompsons wife? CRAWFORD: Oh, yeah.
SCARBOROUGH: You think she thinks she works the pole?
CRAWFORD: Thats what a Hollywood career will do for you, I guess.
SCARBOROUGH: What do you mean?
CRAWFORD: You get wives like that.
SCARBOROUGH: I mean, look at that guy. God bless him, I love his voice. But I mean, you know. He aint Robert Redford in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
CRAWFORD: Well I would like to see him back into politics because I think hes a lousy actor.

Inevitably? Always? I doubt it.
If anyone made a similar comment about the wife of a Democratic candidate you’d hear screaming for days...
So Fred is 24 years older than Jeri. That does not bother me, and don’t understand why it should bother anyone.
It doesn't bother me, either.
Any time spent by male FReepers ogling and publically leering at Thompson's second wife, or by female FReepers swooning and lusting after his "mantle of protection" is counterproductive. It unfairly reduces Fred Thompson to a Republican caricature of Bill Clinton.
Now, if Thompson is angling for the swinger vote then this a great direction to take his candidacy.
Make up your minds, FRedheads.
Well, I do support Romney. One of the reasons I support Romney is that he has married only once, and appears to be quite upstanding personally.
I don't cotton to rich or famous guys who get divorced and marry much younger women. If the guy requires Cialis to be upstanding, it isn't upstanding.
Scarbutt is just a Spitboy wannabe.
Can you sink any lower than the politics of their wife’s destruction?
Pray for W and Our Troops
Having daughters changes a mans perspective, at least mine.
If I thought this was ok for such an age difference I would probably be eyeballing my teenage daughters friends pretty soon and Im never going there whether single or not.
Is your question kind of like the “When was the last time you hit your wife” variety? Low blow if it is dirtboy...
Fred and his first wife were amicably divorced in 1985. Fred and Jeri were married on June 19, 2002. They have two children together; one born in 2003 and the other in November of 2006.
“Disgusting.”
^^^^^^^^^^^^
It’s a pretty low blow to compare Fred and Jeri’s relationship to a grown man ogling a teenager. They were both accomplished, independent adults when they met. I could see your point if she was in her early 20s, but that is not the case. Jeri is an intelligent, independent woman (as her career history shows), and for you to compare Fred’s love for her to that of a pedophile is disgusting. They have two children together, and are happy. That’s more than we can say for some of the other candidates in this race...
There is no reason not to look at his family situation, it will be an issue of some degree of importance in the election to some people just as HillBillary's travesty of a marriage will be for many others. But to consign him to defeat at this stage of the game just because he's in his 60's and has a relatively young and attractive wife is silly IMHO.
I don’t know where you would place me, I am 70, middle aged or elderly? Anyway my husband was 20 years older than me and there were a lot of green eyed women of all ages, at our wedding!! Some of us just have better taste than others, his wife is evidently one.
And didn’t he vote for the last immigration travesty?
His youngest daughter is 3 years old.
90 year old with an 18 year old ok?
As for me I draw the line at the age where one could be the parent of the other.
Its not a vote breaker for me, but as I said it is a turnoff.
You dont have to like it, I honestly dont care.
Im not judging them and wish them well, but it does figure into my impression of him as a man and thus his appeal to me as a President.
Joe must frequent places where women “work the pole”—giving new meaning to “pole watcher.”
