We will also be announcing the results of the FR poll on support for the GOP if the amnesty bill passes into law.

Where: Republican National Committee headquarters, 310 First St., SE, Washington, D.C.
Bring: American flags and signs calling for border security first and no amnesty for illegal aliens. D.C. Chapter made signs will be available for use.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect. We reserve the right to refuse participation by anyone who refuses to abide by these rules.
Option 1 - Comment line ... mailbox full, not accepting
Option 2 - Political - Gentleman answers
Option 3 - Communications - Woman answers
If you listen though the list of options, you will then be offered 7 more ... the 7th is the Chairman’s line and a gentleman answers. Identify your State. They’re a bit surprised this morning :)
When they gave the opion lines, I picked #2 for 'political'...
I was able to connect with a living, breathing person...
..a courteous young man...
He listened politely when I (also politely) told him I was a lifelong Republican..
..over 35 years...
..had specifically voted Republican...
..worked for Republicans...
..voted for, worked for, prayed for and supported President Bush -(twice)--because I trusted him....etc etc
..and asked this young man WHY are they pushing this amnesty bill when it's CLEAR (the corporate WE) don't like it, don't want it and are very upset with it...
...at that point, he told me I was on the 'political' line and I needed to express my opinon to the 'constituent line'.....
I then asked him why he coulnd't listen to me and take down my response, as I'm sure if I'd called with the offer of money, he would make time for that.
..He seemed very sincere and said..(kindly & I thought apologetically) that he wasn't allowed to express his opinions and he would be glad to connect me to the 'constituent' line
I said OK
When I was connected to the constituent line, I immediately received the message....
You hve reached the mailbox of 5100 ...
..this mailbox cannot accept messages because it is full.
..If you want to leave a message, please press 0
..I did, and received this very same message 2 or 3 more times.
Finally I received this message...
You have entered an invalid extension....
...then silence.
It made me really really mad...(who knows if the lines are burning up.)...that would be a good thing...
..but maybe no one is getting through because they(RNC) simply aren't taking messages..
SO...I called the 'political' line again, expecting not to get through this time...
...but low and behold, the same young man answered!
I told him he sent me on a wild goose chase...
....and he expressed regret if it seemed like a runaround!
I asked ....again...if he would take my message, and he said he sure would!
After I talked to him, I expressed my sincere understanding that he was a 'messenger' and not one of the folks who are promoting this bill...(even if he does work for the RNC)
I truly felt he was honest with me...
...When I asked if he knew when this bill would actually be voted on, he said he was trying to find out that answer too, and hoped to have the answer within a couple hours.
I told him I would call back later to get the answer...
..and he told me he would get the information.
I also told him the American people....those who are informed and keep up with politics....as well as those who aren't usually informed...
..understand this bill and what it means!
I told him....
It's really quite simple...they get it!...and it is resonating across the country!!!
I also told him he should expect many calls today!
ping
good for you, guenny!
Constituent line is open...I just got a live person. She told me that the message is definitely being heard. :-)
Just called through all the options and got the nice young gentleman in the Chairman’s Office. I went through my spiel etc. and finished with my support of the Free Republic protest. His exact quote, ‘supressed snort’, “I was not aware of that.” What a joke. Folks, they are ignoring us.
If you can’t get through on these numbers, call 1_800-417-7666 for a direct line to your Senator. This is the moonbat’s number so we can use their dime. You will hear the voice urgeing you to tell your Sen. to vote FOR the bill, but don’t do that (ha). Voice your opinion to a live person.
kristinn,
In Colorado, voters kept calling the state governor, supporting a veto for illegals getting drivers licenses. Our Democrat governor vetoed it because people kept calling, over and over, even though they called before. Keeping the pressure on worked.
This has to happen nationally too with the Bush/McCain/Kyl/Kennedy immigration bill. One call isn’t enough, we have to keep the heat on the politicians until it’s over. Even now some politicians are claiming the ground swell has reduced. We have to keep increasing it.
I just spoke with a very nice young lady when I dialed option 2. I told her the mail boxes on the other numbers were full. I also said “I understand you have a protest going on outside your building right now”.
She said she had no idea about that.
I told her I was part of that protest, but I am in Tennessee. She was very sweet and told me she would be happy to take a message and pass it on to the chairman. I gave her my name and number and filled her in, starting with “I have been a Republican since I first voted for Nixon”. I told her I would not be voting R any more and certainly won’t be giving money if they continue supporting the amnesty bill.
We will see if anything happens, like a call back.
Im participating in the amnesty bill demonstration from Colorado. (He groaned a little.)
Ive been a supporter - active! since Goldwater.
Regarding the Amnesty bill in the senate which I strenuously oppose, just seal the borders! - I know its supporter are losing because theyve sent out their flacks to play the race card.
These and other insults I take seriously. You should too.
One more thing - a party that fails to respond to its constituents will cease to exist.
Outstanding!
You’re so nice :)
I think they have DEMS working their phones.
I called just now and selected option 2 and got through right away. I kept it short and asked him to please pass the message along that what this amnesty bill was doing was dangerous to America. He said he would and I said “God bless you.”
