Because, Peggy, down deep where they live, they don't like the right, never did and have always sought to be seen by the Big Media as the progressive children of a dysfunctional and retarded family.

Jorge's father had that stupid 1000 points of light metaphor. Jorge recycled that with compassionate conservatism. But both were attempts to poke a stick in the eye of the loyal conservative base to which both NWO boys owed their election. When Buchanan gets it wrong he is very wrong, but when he gets it right he is very right. Patrick J Buchanan nailed it on this column.

It’s a sad situation when Bush can almost make Buchanan look good. But he is not the man conservatives can afford to rally behind.

“Lock and load”. “Lock and load”.

Fascinating that Pat’s willing to use that kind of language when it comes to fighting Republicans, but not when it comes to fighting terrorists.

I'm beginning to think that Bush too often inclines toward that part of our pseudo-"leadership community" that's sort of cognitively incompetent and disloyal.

What are some effective measures that can cause him and his ilk to experience 'strong disincentives' for this kind of crap? As he's not up for re-election and the semi-failure of his presidency is a foregone conclusion, what is he likely to actually care about?

CALL! CALL! CALL! CALL! AND KEEP CALLING TILL THE LINES FRY!

WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!

Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti illegal immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them. This is a bipartisan issue not a Conservative or Liberal issue BUT AN AMERICAN issue.

STOP AMNESTY NOW!! WE CAN DO IT!!

The best way to stop Shamnesty

Conservatives also rebelled when he nominated that old unprepared lady for the supremes also. He withdrew that one quickly and put in her place a more real choice.

Travis:
Boy it sure is good to see you again, I have missed you. The last time I seen you was in San Diego when Jim Robinson and Amy were there. I hope you are in good health and doing well. All is well here in the Texican's house, other than getting older. (83 in just four days)

Good morning and the very best to you and yours.

Sometimes listening to, or reading Pat makes me scream at what I consider are his crazy beliefs. Other times, I shout and holler my agreement. This time, it’s the latter.

I actually don't believe that. From what I can see here in DC, this is mostly being driven by big business donors who repeat mantras to themselves thinking it will make things true. Its odd to see here in DC. A room full of Republicans, with most concerned about this crappy bill, but the richest donors are the ones who get listened to.

[For President Bush has attacked his own loyalists for a lack of patriotism. “If you don’t want to do what’s right for America,” he said of opponents of the Bush-Kennedy immigration bill, “if you want to scare the American people, what you say is the bill’s an amnesty bill. That’s empty political rhetoric, trying to frighten our citizens.”]

What a disappointment this President of the U.S. is become.

This thread title brought to the forefront some of my concerns, but in a different way.

I feel it is time to “Lock & Load” at home.

I have two pistols, a Sig 226 (.40 cal) and a Ruger 22mm.

I am thinking about a pump Shotgun, and a rifle or two.

I assume for the shotgun, I would get a 12-gauge, with a relatively short barrel for home defense. Any brands/models to recommend?

There are so many different rifle calibers, I’m not sure what I should look at. I want something I can hunt local deer with and something that would allow me to hold the perimeter of our 4 acres if needed.

Also, cost of ammo is a concern. I’ve purchased pistol ammo from Georgia Ammo, so I’m not opposed to buying bulk on the Internet.

I will go to the range to practice and have been around guns my entire life. I just want to go ahead and get some of these before someone in Washington decides that I don’t need them.

Thanks for your help.
p.s. I am also researching at www.thefiringline.com

[His free-trade zealotry has led to five straight record trade deficits. While America’s economy is now growing at under 1 percent, China’s is booming at 10 percent. His refusal to defend and secure the borders is well-nigh impeachable. His compromises with Teddy Kennedy on No Child Left Behind have doubled the size of the Department of Education without any appreciable gain in test scores. His “Big Government Conservatism” marks him as his father’s son, not Reagan’s heir.]

The whig party reminds me of today’s republican party, moderates that appeal to no one, and they disappeared because of it.

The next election will be a landslide for the socialists (I.E. dems) as the GOP base storms off totally disillusioned and disapointed with the repubs. I will vote for Mickey Mouse.

>>The damage Bush has done to his party is beginning to rival that of Herbert Hoover.<<

I don’t give a damn about a political party. That’s right not the Democrats, not the Republicans and not any of the Independents!

Mr. President,
What I care about is my Country. When I help put somebody in the White House I expect them to follow through with their Oath of Office. No turning away from protecting the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and damn sure don’t forget that you’re there to protect the Constitution of these United States, first and foremost!

I care about the people of these United States, not the ones in China or Saudia Arabia, Mexico, Russia, Africa or Iraq. The children of these United States are the kids I served to protect, not the kids in South Viet Nam. The elderly and infirm who are American citizens and those who are within our borders legally are the folks that I want to protect.

These people who are proud of their dual citizenships just piss me off. If there is a fire and you can only pick up two kids to carry out of the building, don’t try coming out the door with two foreign babies in your arms because I’ll throw you back in that fire until you understand that it’s American babies first.

You foreigners that want to live here, you want to enjoy our schools, doctors, hospitals, jobs, the national security that our servicemen give you, well dammit prove it. Knock at the door and wait for someone to give you permission to enter before you try comimg in demanding rights as if your heritage is an 200 year old American Oak tree.

Our forefathers who fought and died for this country made it what it is. If we won’t do our share to protect it then we don’t deserve to live here either.
