Need help posting pictures from hard drive.
Posted on 06/01/2007 7:36:19 AM PDT by VR-21
I'm looking for a way to post pictures and graphics that are not from some web source. The HTML method won't allow me to post a picture that's stored on my hard drive. I'm somewhat new to FR, blogging and HTML and would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks.

Unless you want to change your PC into a zombie server, it isn’t a good idea to post pics to the web from your hard drive.
That is what image hosting is for ;)

Use Tinypic, it seems like everyone is using them nowadays.

I use the free servce Photobucket.com. You upload your pics there, and they give you the code so you can post it in FR. Your pics can stay on photobucket, allowing you to create a nice little album of quick pics for posting!

You will have to use a web hosting service...my favorite is Photobucket. Tinypic is a good one also.

You have to upload it to an online image site that allows "hotlinking" like
Photobucket, or
Imageshack. Then you can hotlink to it. Imageshack doesn't require a login or account. Just upload and go.
There are also other services like Tinypic and there used to be a list of them here

What everyone has said.
You need to post them to a website using an FTP program. A lot of people use photobucket.
