RNC Fires Phone Solicitors [former donors outraged over amnesty]

There has been a sharp decline in contributions from RNC phone solicitations, another fired staffer said, reporting that many former donors flatly refuse to give more money to the national party if Mr. Bush and the Senate Republicans insist on supporting what these angry contributors call "amnesty" for illegal aliens. "Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue," said the former employee.

True, but I was referring to the two main parties that have been and always will be our two main parties.

I can’t support the “stupid party” anymore. What really hurts is how hopeful we all were in 2000. I don’t think any people ever worked so hard, or prayed so hard as we did to ensure that Gore did not steal that election. What was it all about? I’m sure I don’t know.

Good luck with that...

So, neverhillorat, how's that working out for you?

Believe me, I do. I know many able bodied men (and some women) who have lost decent jobs in the construction industry because of undercutting by illegals. But there are those in the industry that swear they can’t get Americans to do the work. Riiiiight!!!

About the only thing these folks might be good for is field work, but we have a special visa and system already in place for them. I am in favor of a rational guest worker program with safeguards in place to be sure they don’t drain our health care and welfare systems while they are here. I have worked with the legal migrant farmworkers and have participated in providing clothing and Christmas gifts to them. They are truly hard working people in need of our help but these people are indeed here legally and return to Mexico when the season is over. They should be able to apply for citizenship if they have been working here legally and go through a system that doesn’t force them to pay bribes all the way down the line in Mexico.

So I definitely do feel for anyone who has been squeezed out by illegals. We should crack down on employers immediately! We should build the fence. We should cut off welfare benefits to illegals. We should sanction so called “sanctuary cities” by withholding any and all federal funds. But who is going to do this? It’s frustrating beyond belief!

I also feel bad for the 65 or so phone solicitors that lost their jobs through no fault of their own and now will likely have difficulty securing other employment because at their pay level, any jobs will probably be going to an illegal.

I called the number and it worked fine...got right through to my senator's offcie for a voice mail.

Found some toll-free numbers on an "Impeach Bush" website...the first one worked, so I assume the rest do also.

This is for either Senators or Congressmen.
HERE IS A LIST OF TOLL FREE CAPITOL HILL SWITCHBOARD NUMBERS:
1 (800) 828 - 0498
1 (800) 459 - 1887
1 (800) 614 - 2803
1 (866) 340 - 9281
1 (866) 338 - 1015
1 (877) 851 - 6437

I am totally with you. I prayed for Pres. Bush every day. In some way Clinton was preferable to Bush because he yielded to political pressure-he would never try to ram an unpopular immigration bill down the throats of his constituents if it meant losing in the next election. Bush seems to believe this is the ‘right thing to do’ and by God he will see it through. I am surprised that Repub lemmings in Congress are going along with it-I would never have expected Sen. Chambliss to continue to support this bill after the total fury of Georgian voters. He will lose the next election-so will Isakson.

Good. Bankrupt the RNC before Team Bush and Senatorial cohorts bankrupt the Nation with millions of new illegal regularized immigrants to be subsidized by the American taxpayers.

I believe the 8,000 lb elephant in the room is this:

Hey, you're still here! F15Eagle is gone. Any relation?

Getting kinda quiet in here.

not cricket-quiet yet, but almost.

Construction used to be a decent job-they can’t get Americans to work under the table for peanuts is what they mean. These illegals they work for nothing because many live wih 10 or 20 guysin some house or perhaps in cheap trailers and send the money home to Mexico-this is good money by Mexican standards.

I said that very thing to my husband yesterday, Clinton is starting to look good to me, ummm...Bill, that is, not Hillary. My Senators are Nelson and Martinez, once this deal goes through both will be untouchable.

Could be they simply don't know the facts.

That is the number I tried and the machine said it would not accept calls from this area code...I am in 817 area code. They can block or not accept calls based on area codes so I assume they figure too many Anglos in this code.

Excellent posts. Neverhillorat has no positive suggestions, just juvenille comments. Other FReepers appreciate real suggestions, like the ones you offered.

"Construction.."

Construction jobs require skills nowadays.

I have occasionally considered hiring some illegals, but then I really can't predict what skills they posses, and I certainly don't want my projects to suffer from unskilled labor doing the work.

So, no, Designer has never hired any illegals.

Steady on, there, asp1. No need to get all goofy on us.

Please be aware that whatever is going wrong with this country now would go wrong even faster with the dhummies in charge.

Now look at what you've gone and done! You've got me sounding as if I am supportive of RINOS, for crying out loud.

Good for you-I needed work done on my house before we move. I hired an American Family business to do the work. The guy I hired to do my tile in the master bath contracted the work out to illegals-he admitted it. My tile leaked and rotted the floor so now I am replacing the floor and the tile.

You know, I’ve never thought those were ever really looked at, but instead they were meant as a marketing gimmick.
