A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay.

raining there? It is pretty sunny/hot here. High 80s. Took dogs down to river & we all got in & played & cooled off. Need to clean up(mud, river smell before I go out)

Happy Warm Fuzzy Wednesday/Thursday Poetry
Cuddles
My Little Pretty One has always had very discerning tastes
Gathering large collections of items with very little waste
Porcelain Dolls adorned in lavish gowns with lots of frills
Looking down upon a bed layered with soft blankets lumped like hills
To create a Seaside scene for a small army of stuffed Companions
Lined up on the Shore across large soft Pillows lacking Canyons
With a distinct preference for Tuxedoed Penguins of every shape and size
Complete families exquisitely turned out and silently wise
Yet, there is one Beach Comber that has been around since I was a Kitten
Rufus, the consummate Odd Duck, which is most ironically fitting
Who seemed so much larger and intimidating when I was a Ball of Fluff
I knew after my first cautious hug that it would never be enough!
Over weeks and months and years, I've gotten bigger, or Rufus has shrunk
A mysterious fact of Nature I think I'd rather not debunk
So, My Little Pretty One can keep her Penguins with all their natty charms
While I prefer to stretch out and Nap with Rufus cuddled snugly in my arms!
