“As a matter of fact, you can tell when the border is better defended because the number of arrests go down.” Uh, Mr Presidente, could there be another reason?

Always beware of a politician using the word “REFORM”. That is the weasel word of all time. We had CAMPAIGN REFORM with McCain, and got our First Amendment rights violated with GOVERNMENT SUPPORT -— now we have IMMIGRATION REFORM which is reall ILLLEGAL IMMIGRANT AMNESTY courtesy of the US citizen and taxpayer, with destroyed demographics, economy, culture, and borders...(what borders?).

Always beware of REFORM...look what Washington calls REFORM...

I’m sorry Mr. President, didn’t you take an oath when you accepted your current job? Exactly which portion of the U.S. Constitution are you and America’s Congress upholding with this illegal DEAL?

“something great about a country that welcomes people, people who uphold our laws and realize the great blessings of America.”

We agree Mr. Presidente. Now, can we talk about illegal immigrants?

I called the White House and told the message taker that I was deeply insulted that the President felt that I, a person who voted for him twice, didn’t want to do what’s right for America.

I told them he was the one that wasn’t doing the right thing for America by not repelling this invasion and giving amnesty to 20 million people who shouldn’t be here.

“”And we’re beginning to see some results. In this immigration debate, oftentimes people say, well, they’re not doing anything to protect the border. Well, that’s not — those folks just simply don’t know what’s going on.””

This is funny. For 6 years he purposely underfunded border and immigration enforcement to keep depressing wages. In 2006 as part of the cynical “comprehensive” stratagery he proclaimed as a show of force the NG on the Border (remember the video?) and increase in BP agents. So he is taking credit for something he felt only compelled to do, increase enforcement, as part of a ruse to get his Amnesty+ through, his own prior non-enforcement being used as “proof” that only his current plan can work.

He’s not off his kilter yet, like last year, but may reach there. I will say this for him, and McCain, at least they’re not flip-flopping hypocrites like Kyl. Worse, Kyl proclaims the current bill is a “compromise”, yet it is demonstrably worse than last year’s. For example, no Z-Visa’s and a 2-5 year residency required.

How Kyl can lie so brazenly that this bill is a compromise, compounded with the fact he was elected for reasons diametrically opposite of this bill, is confounding...

Senator Saxbe Chamblis of Georgia standard E-Mail response to constiuents on his support of illegal Immigration:

Thank you for contacting me to share your thoughts about immigration reform. I appreciate knowing your thoughts on this important and emotional issue.

Our current immigration system is broken and needs reform. Any reform Congress enacts must meet our national security needs and our economic interests; it must also manage the number of people we admit into the U.S. to ensure American workers and families are not negatively impacted by our immigration system.

Moreover, all individuals living in the United States must respect and obey our nation’s laws. There are times when old and current laws must be reviewed, revised and ultimately strengthened. The time is now to appropriately reform our immigration laws.

The recently announced bipartisan agreement on immigration reform is a step in the right direction toward reaching a final and comprehensive immigration bill. This legislation is a significant improvement over last year’s bill, which I opposed, but this is not a perfect bill. For me to support any final bill, it must contain the following principles that are important to Georgians:

Guaranteed border security first .

No amnesty and no new path to citizenship

Temporary means temporary - guest workers must go home at the end of their authorized temporary work period

End chain migration - replace family-based immigration system with a merit-based system.

Eliminate the job magnet for illegal immigrants by implementing a simple, secure employment verification system.

English should be the official language of the United States and everyone should speak it.

Our nation’s immigration problem has been in the making for many years and there is no easy fix. I have chosen to be proactive and engaged during the negotiations because my involvement is the right thing for Georgia and the right thing for America ‘s future. As the debate progresses, I will continue the fight to ensure that our nation is secure and our economy continues to thrive.

Two miles of fence and a promise. Sorry President Bush, you and your administration have never understood that border control and the WOT are inextricably linked and that your failure to secure the border allowed the left to argue persuasively that there is no war and all is well in Oz.

Wake TFU!

I was a Customs Inspector, and I attended the academy at Glynco. The 1986 amnesty was a betrayal of all that Customs, Immigration and Border Patrol worked for.

Once the amnesty program legalized all those folks, they quit doing the “jobs that Americans won’t do.” They got better jobs with better pay and benefits. better jobs.

This past week my 17 year old son who works at a buffet restaurant chain was told he couldn’t be promoted from dish washing to bakery. Why? Because all the other bakery workers only speak Spanish, so they can’t train him.

He got his first lesson in reverse discrimination.

As a result of a recent Senate amendment, they have to pay back taxes if they haven't paid taxes, too.

I understand that was taken OUT of the Senate bill NOT added in...jeeshh! This guy must be getting BS tips from his brother Clinton..

Amnesty for 12-20+million illegals is about the last thing going that GW can use as his legacy.

The WoT sort of went south.
The War in Iraq sort of went south.
GW even had to call in a special War Czar for those.

The big Social Security push at the start of his 2nd term quickly foundered.

There isn’t much left except what he can push to further the one-world global vision of GHWB - Amnesty for illegals, NAU, SPP, TransHighway.

Next year, both parties will be too busy with primaries and conventions and the general election to do much business, so GW needs to finalize his legacy this year.

And Amnesty for Illegals is all he’s got.

GW could leave office with as little of a legacy as Jimmy Carter had. The difference is that GW had 8 years and Carter only had 4.

At least GW did make two seemingly good Supreme Court nominations. But even with those, he only gets half credit for the Alito nomination, after the Miers fiasco. Of course, if he does have another SC nomination before he leaves office, he could easily neutralize the previous appointments by placating the Dems and nominating a ‘moderate’ [that is ‘liberal’ in polito-speak] that Senator Reid and Company would agree to.

“If you’re interested in securing the border, wouldn’t you rather have Border Patrol agents chasing down terrorists and gun runners and dope runners as opposed to people who are coming to do jobs Americans aren’t doing? A temporary worker plan, that is truly temporary, is going to make it easier for us to enforce the border. Border enforcement and having a rational worker plan go hand-in-hand. And that’s what the American people have got to understand.”

Nooooooooooo I wouldnt rather the BP just chase down terrorists etc..would you rather the police chase down terrorists than someone who breaks into your house in Crawford and stays?...

Those illegal aliens are criminals..why not chase them down and arrest them? and anyway they arent running they are right in our face..demanding freebies that Americans cant get...

And there’s no way I will “understand” laziness at closing the border..border enforcement stands alone it has nothi ng to do with “rational worker plans” no matter how temp you think it might be...

You need to understand that the American people do not wish to be betrayed by the people they sent to DC..

You need to understand that America is a Republic not a Dictatorship....

“We the People” are the owners of this nation...not the few traitors in DC...
