magine an American reporter tipping off the enemy of an imminent offensive during World War II.
Imagine a U.S. news company jeopardizing the secrecy of an impending operation against Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan.
Imagine a major media outlet aiding a nation sworn to the destruction of the U.S. and Western civilization.
Sadly, tragically, shamefully, we really don't have to imagine such a scenario any longer. Something like this scenario just happened when ABC News aired a broadcast by reporter Brian Ross announcing the president has approved a covert operation to destabilize the Iranian government, attributing the discovery to anonymous sources.
It should be enough to make Americans sick to their stomachs on this solemn occasion of Memorial Day and while U.S. troops are, at this moment, under attack in Iraq from Iranian surrogates and Iranian arms.
It is more than enough to make me, as a lifelong American journalist, wonder what kind of evil motivations are behind this treasonous act by Ross and his supervisors at ABC News.
Yes, that's right, I said "treason." How else can one accurately characterize such a despicable act of cowardice and disloyalty?
Why is it cowardice?
Because Ross and ABC News know there will be no punishment for their brazen disregard for American national security. In fact, this vulgar, repulsive, nauseating act of sedition will probably result in higher speaking fees and a fat book contract for Ross. Mark my words.
In this age of American Idolatry, there is almost no act too repugnant, odious and diabolical to be rewarded with celebrity and material wealth – in the short term, that is.
Judgment day, however, is coming.
As I point out in my new book, "Stop the Presses! The Inside Story of the New Media Revolution," the three major networks are losing their hold on American viewers. Daily newspapers out of step with the values of their American readers are losing circulation in droves. Irresponsible and reckless journalism that attacks the very fabric of American culture will not always be rewarded.

With the advent of the Internet and talk radio, what I call the New Media, Americans have more choice than ever before about where they get their news and information. This new competition is the best way to hold to account the disgraceful excesses of the Old Media.
Long ago, the Old Media sold its very soul, betrayed its mission, lost its bearings and its ability to discern right from wrong. It confused the vital role of a free press with anti-American activism. And even in a world increasingly incapable of making good moral choices and seeing truth, that kind of corruption is not viewed charitably.
Whenever we're confronted with grotesque examples of blind betrayal and treachery like this, people always ask: "What can we do about it?"
Today, because of increased competition and the declining influence of media conglomerates like ABC, we have an answer. Turn the dial, and don't look back! Spread the word among your friends about this villainous, reprobate, sinful act of outrageous dishonor to our country.
Don't count on your government to do what's right in this circumstance because too many of our officials have already been compromised by their own scandalous betrayal of the Constitution, the law of the land and the will of the people.
Instead, vote with your channel changer. Shut off that television altogether and seek out alternative news sources like WND, where reporters and editors are Americans first and muckrakers second.
This is hardly the first time you've been told lies by the media. This is hardly the first time you've been betrayed by the media. This is hardly the first time American lives and liberty have been jeopardized by the media.

And you really believe that’s gonna put a stop on the spread of treason? If the traditional methods of distributing their poison and lies is blocked, they wont adapt to new means and methods?
Has the White House owned up to whether the report is true or not? This could be testing to check out leaks.
This is so outrageous and I can't believe this is allowed.

Let's make it easy on ABC News. Make them pay all the costs for an investigation into their report and make them reveal their source. Put top management into the slammer, along with the reporter, if they do not spill the beans.
ABC News says that no lives were impacted. I say that is not true. ABC News just gave Iran the justification to go to war against the United States. Millions of lives will be impacted by this reckless reporting.
In what way? Rush Limbaugh quotes WND all the time.

ABC is guilty of treason. That we won't see anyone suffer consequences for their egregious crimes against this nation is an outrage.

When the enemy evaluates your response to the source, it enhances the validity of the info, which is part of the game.
I’ve not watched a MSM news broadcast in over three years. I’ve not subscribed to a newspaper for longer than that. I yell at the wife every time I catch her peeking at one of those Communist network morning shows. This makes life a lot happier and less stressful. (Also provides for a great deal of fun when some telemarketer calls and wants me to resubscribe to the paper!)
