If anyone that reads this is ever picked for jury duty, then acquit any citizen who was just defending him or herself.
Even if the citizen shot the home invader a bunch of times. Make the liberal justice system pay through the nose to prosecute an armed citizen. And make that liberal justice system fail.
For one thing, guns are a lot louder than whistles. And I think there may be additional reasons why a gun is more effective than a whistle.

I think I would take my chances with a gun over a whistle any day.
Get a gun. Practice. Use it safely. Aim for the body area. Keep shooting until he is down and not moving. Run.
