If I remember it correctly, the strike was broken when the police realized that crime had actually dropped while they were dunking donuts.
This has been true across the country. The criminals know that the police are trained and required to try to capture them without harming them.
Joe Public shoots to kill. So when police are on strike, criminals stay home too. They don't ever want to meet an angry, scared, and armed Joe Public because ol' Joe will kill them.

Got that insult by watching the news did ya? Very clever the first 100 times I heard it but not terribly original any more.
Your reading comprehension is way low. “2 threads, in 5 minutes” means I am talking about 2 ‘different’ threads that I read here on FR in a 5 minute time period that gave no clue where they were talking about. It happens all the time and it should not happen at all, it’s too easy to include the state.
Just so you’ll know, there are other towns in other states named Santa Fe.

Wrong! They deserve to be told the truth, that they are responsible for their own safety, and encouraged to take the steps necessary to provide it.This is Santa Fe.
The residents are for the most part beyond help, just like the residents of San Francisco, Berkeley, Boulder, Cambridge, or Ithaca.

At least the police will draw a nice outline of the dead victim after she first tries all of the cockamamie ideas proposed by the police.
