Tehran, Iran, May 25 – An Islamic court in Iran sentenced two men to death by being thrown of a cliff, the official state daily “Iran” reported on Thursday.

The sentences were issued in the central Iranian province of Fars.

The two men were identified only by their first names Tayyeb and Yazdan. They were accused of rape.

Iran’s Islamic penal system regularly practices centuries-old sentences for petty crimes, such as amputation of limbs, eye gouging, stoning to death, and throwing prisoners off a cliff in a sac.

Yes, but this was a reverse execution. Instead of throwing stones at the accused they threw the accused at the stones! It is much more efficient to do this form of execution by throwing them off a cliff once than it is to throw the victims at a stone or a boulder multiple, multiple times (gets tiring), don't you know!

Oh you mean the one our own government helped put in place back in 1953. What was that about intervening in the internal affairs of other nations again?

Carter was not a good President and I'm not arguing that he was. As for this situation, it's horrific, and it's barbaric. But it is their internal affairs therefore I don't care.

While this is a barbaric punishment... What would you have want done to the male that raped your daughter?? Some things about Iran are very bad, but this might be an outstanding deterrent to future rapists.
