Knights fight at tournaments in old castles
26.05.2007
Fans of Mediaeval tournaments of knights are meeting this weekend at ancient castles in Poland. The 11th international contest, with the participation of teams from Poland, the Czech republic and Slovakia, has been staged at Krzyztopor Castle in mid-central Poland. The program envisages recreated fights for an ancient saber and a game of live chess.
About 300 representatives of knights brotherhoods from Poland and abroad are meeting at the Ogrodzieniec castle in southern Poland to recreate mediaeval contests between knights on horseback.

You need $2 to $5 million to get started, then you have a castle hotel that you can pass down to your kids for the next thousand years, or so.
Avoid palaces - go for castles - “forts”.
Much bigger draw.

Great pictures.
Zavishah the Black has a gorgeous horse. Looks like a Friesian.
Very suitable for carrying a knight in heavy armor!

Yeah, I missed my chance to buy one for $600k, including the vinyards, etc.
Heck, I was 22. My 12-y-o is still screaming at me, about it.

If only our elections could be held this way...to the death. Winner takes office. Bush over Gore or Kerry with ease. GOP with 80% of Congress.
Until Pelosi transmogrifies into a giant spider and devours half of the challengers.
And Hillary petrifies the rest with her gaze.

I hear Dracula’s castle is up for sale. Unless somebody bought it already.

Not my baby, though.
Here's my baby.
She's pretty, but too light-boned to carry a large man in armor. Thoroughbred of racing blood, but she couldn't catch cold if you spotted her three furlongs. Which is fine by me, I'm not in a hurry. But when I hunt her, we usually wind up back in the back of the field with the kids on ponies.

I thoroughly enjoyed this thread. Thank you very much, Lizol.
I see that you're a freeper living in Poland, our ally. How proud you must be of your heritage and your country. Nice to see the good knights always win before the tournament is over.

Still, that is one darn pretty horse.

She's a good, good mare. Not a mean bone in her body, loves people.
Somewhere there's a picture of her lying with her head in my lap. She had new shoes on and her feet were tender, so she lay down in her stall and I sympathized with her (in a somewhat suspect tone, but she didn't care so long as I fed her molasses-and-oatmeal treats).
