What commitment? Do you mean the sexual commitment? I know few people older that 16 who have NOT had a 16-year commitment to their family members. Congrats for that? Or does sex make the commitment more special?
it sounds to me like you dont know the difference between 'family' relationships and 'love interest' relationships. i bet you have REAL interesting family reunions.

I’m not talking about economics, sure Sam won’t want for much financially, but who sets the moral compass in Sam’s life, the parents or the grandparents? Sam is going to be one confused little boy if the value of his grandfather comes in direct conflict with the values of his hardcore lesbian mothers.
A boy especially needs the strong role of a father in his life who has a clue about what’s right and what’s wrong. Sam will not have that and will no doubt have to wrestle with loving his lesbian mothers against hating what they are or hating those that condemn them. If the latter then post #329 will apply and his soul will be forever lost.

Do you realize how many couples have children thinking it will solve problems in their relationship and the kids they have end up suffering right along with the parents? I admire your belief that longevity has a correlation to the quality of a relationship but its not a very reliable indicator. Neither you nor I have any clue as to the quality of their relationship.
you are certainly adamant that longevity is not a reliable indicator of the quality of a relationship. that may very well be. but from where i am standing it certainly sounds like a 'stable' relationship, and i am hard pressed to come up with other criteria based on the data i have available.
im gonna go with UndauntedR here and say they are deeply committed. unless you have evidence to the contrary.

I wholeheartedly agree and if the Cheneys are to be saved, they will be, but as a society those of us who see the ‘truth’ have a responsibility and a duty to proclaim it to those who currently reside and/or are bound in the darkness.
To: whatisthetruth
Indeed, but not “as a society”. The Apostles traveled and witnessed with no “state” authority whatsoever, not even Israel.
We still Render Unto Caesar. Swallow and bear it, and use the cross as your personal reinforcement. We all sin and fall short.

Lesbians and homos should not be able to counting their time together from when they first did each other.
i dont know about you, but not one girl i have ever gone out with counted our relationship "start date" from the first time we had sex

except for the love of his father. A huge hole in the heart. And this makes him different from many, many children born to heterosexuals how? At least he has two adults (four, if you count the grands) who love him. Many children born to heterosexuals can't say that; this is a weak, weak argument against homosexuals raising children.

The Apostles didn’t live too long now did they? You give the homosexual agenda more and more leeway into the power levers of our society neither will we.

There is so much bad in the best of us,
And so much good in the worst of us,
That it hardly behoves any of us
To talk about the rest of us.

any situation where adults purposefully deprive the child of one of his/her parents is doing harm to the child.
heterosexual/homosexual/single/married...whatever else there is out there.
Adult who place their “right” to have children over the basic needs of the child are being selfish.

No, we go to the mat against tenets of it as public policy. But our votes, in the cold sinful Terra Firma, count no more at that standard than anyone elses.
You still love the sinner. Christianity is the only ethos that offers the blessings of forgiveness, whether it be Macro (I suck but, thanks to the blood of Christ, ain’t going to hell) or Micro (I forgive you and encourage you to sin no more). It’s damned powerful.

Exactly and as public policy I don’t want my government representatives telling me or implying that it’s good and okay for same-sex couples to bring life into this society whether I’m hearing it from liberal government officials or in this case conservative government officials.
The bottom line is I’m against homosexuals raising children under ANY circumstances and I would hope you feel likewise.
To: whatisthetruth
VP Cheney did not make this public pronouncement, at least beyond a generic pronouncement of having another grandchild. The MSM fed on it. Same-sex, “turkeybaster” births happen all the time, without any media coverage.
For me, life is life. Family is family. Sure, this isn’t the optimal family situation, but my faith does not allow me to condemn the child or its “guardians”. It’s an innocent life unleashed to a terrible world, but a loving family, which is the best defense anyone could ask for.
