Mary Cheney gave birth today to perhaps the most anticipated baby in contemporary U.S. politics -- her first child, Samuel David Cheney, whom she will raise with her longtime partner Heather Poe.
The 8-pound, 6-ounce boy is the sixth grandchild for Dick Cheney.

I just had the fantasy of Harry Reid as a grandfather and felt nauseated.
We need a thread on who you would wish for as a Grandfather.
Lets see,,Cheney is very high. Reagan of course. Bush will be a great grandfather as is his father.
Given the uniqueness of a child, the only alternative for him would not to have been born at all so I guess while some may be sad for his circumstances, he ought to be overjoyed,,,once he gets done with colic, teething, potty training and going to nursery school. He is alive, he has Cheney genes and he will thrive is my guess. And have no shortage of love in his little life.
Perversion as applied to sexual behavior is generally agreed to mean something along the lines of aberrant sexual practices, often habitual and preferred to traditional intercourse. So I hope you're willing to see the "No Child Raised By Sexual Perverts" Act be implemented remove children from the homes of not only homosexuals, but all those heterosexuals who engage in oral, anal, s&m, masturbation, etc. as all are "perversions." Looks like we're going to have be doing the Elian to a whole lot of kids.
I said it is selfish to deliberately conceive a child without the possibility of the family unit that nature intended. This is true when "Murphy Brown" did it and when Mary Cheney did it, and when thousands of American women do it every year.
The birth of a baby is a cause for celebration. Hope our VP has a great time spoiling the little tyke.
Well, thank you for clearing that up. Some of the best children come from the “worst” parents, indeed.
And don’t necessarily underestimate the emotional dynamic that the child imposes on the mother. Children are little miracles that become polluted by the Fallen World.
Thanks again for responding. We have to hold ourselves accountable for our own actions, as variegated as they may be. Still, I think condemning loving parents unilaterally might be a bit outside the lines, particularly at this time.
“Geesh, its the birth of a kid. Good manners dictate that if you cant say something nice about a kid being born, then dont say anything. Do you know how many cribs Ive looked into and saw the ugliest danged babies and said oh, what a cute kid!
But naturally, here on the forum you told us what you really thought, the kids were ugly in your opinion (thanks for not stating that in the presence of the parents).
The people on this social conservative forum are speaking
to each other, we are not at Cheney’s and her girlfriends house speaking to her and her new born baby.
The conservatives here are discussing the gay agenda, it is one of the things that FR does.
Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Isa 5:21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
Isa 5:22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:
Isa 5:23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
Isa 5:24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
I’m not sacrificing anything to “the gay agenda”. I’m celebrating the birth of a baby to a domestic situation that, while I morally object to, will still likely rear a wonderful child. I just don’t see this as the occasion to cast aspersions, when I have sticks in my own eye.
I didn’t put names to the hideously ugly kids, but I could tell you some horror stories. Kids so ugly the parents had to hang a pork chop around their necks to get the dog to play with them.
As for Mary C., I doubt whether she has any kind of agenda. She probably just wants to live her life.
I love babies. I’m glad the baby was a boy. Lynn Cheney will spoil the kid rotten. Congratulations!
Mazal Tov!
“Congratulations to the Vice President and his family!”
I agree with my whole heart!
Thanking the Lord that the baby was healthy.
Mark 9: 14-32 (too long to type)
None of us are worthy of His grace. Politics and spirituality are just not the same ring of the circus.
You think the grandparents are going to say to the child, look your mothers are abnormal, hell they don't even have a clue about how their own daughter turned lesbian yet parental guilt may play a role in their acquiescing to this 'unnatural' to say the least, turn of events.
No, Sam’s birth circumstances are less than optimal, but so are many others. Check out illegitimacy rates among statistical cohorts.
However, think of your own upbringing: you likely had aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and FAMILY farther out than just your nuclear family/household. IMHO, the ultimate adolescent relationship is that with the grandparents: both are in physiological transition, and, while the grandparents are getting over “empty nesting”, they are rejuvenated in support of grandchildren and have much wisdom and sympathy to pass along.
ROFLMAO
