I like this guy. Does he have any chance of winning?
I know too, that this sounds silly, but just about every successful presidental candidate has a great smile.
Therefore, Fred Thompson and Hillary stike out and let’s face it, Obama has good one. (REagan had the best.)
Duncan needs to open up and show his pearly whites otherwise he comes on too hateful. Seems like I haven’t seen his smile.

Speaking of Laura Ingraham, did anybody else happen to catch a cameo of her on the 24 finale last night....or was I imagining things?

Yes, he has every chance of winning! You answered your own question when you said you like this guy. I have read many posts from people that say they personally like Duncan but don’t think he can be elected. It’s time for those folks to jump on the Hunter bandwagon. It’s time to abandon all the pretenders(RINOS) with the nice smiles, but wrong on the issues and get on board with a serious(not hateful) candidate who is truly right on the issues!
There is serious work to be done and we need a serious man for president. Laura Ingraham seems to be pretty high on Duncan Hunter and lots more are warming to him every day.

Go to my space and join his friends list, there are many pics there showing his smile! One with President Reagan.
He doesn’t exactly get facetime in the media! That’s a big problem. However when you hear him on these interviews, many times he laughs and shows a sense of humor.

You are absolutely right! Duncan does have a great smile, it’s just when he is addressing serious issues he treats them very seriously, as he should!

Besides donating to his presidential campaign and talking him up to friends and family, if each of us Hunter supporters would identify one local conservative talk show host (CTSH) that broadcasts in our home area and make it our mission to convince that CTSH through calling in and emailing him of the reasons why Duncan Hunter is the superior conservative candidate for the GOP 2008 nomination, I believe we would be successful in raising the conservative public's awareness of Hunter to a critical mass level.
If we can convince the CTSH's to talk up Duncan Hunter (like Laura Ingraham has recently done) then I believe this is the quickest way to elevate his position in the polls and make him more visible to the voting masses.

Hey, color me impressed. If he ever gets the chance to really get this message out, he could be formidable.
After all, not every American who would agree with Hunter on this issue is a Republican. I think a lot of people don't understand that this is a crossover issue that cuts across the parties. Rank-and-file union Democrats, for one, can't be too happy with this bill, and I wouldn't be surprised if a strong majority of independents are against it, either.

"... like Duncan but dont think he can be elected."I remember 1980 so well. Everybody in the media and many in government were saying Reagan was "too extreme" to get elected. Then he won by a landslide. Twice.
To: upsdriver
By the way, we have many millions of illegal aliens in our country, as you know.
What is Hunter's position on what to do about those who are already here?
Does he have a position on that?
Does he have a plan?
And why does he keep repeating his "12 million" figure?
At this point, that number seems to be ridiculously low.
To: upsdriver
Like any republican (except those like McCain, Specter, etc.), if Hunter doesn’t smile, he’s mean-spirited. If he does smile, he’s got no “gravitas.” A man like Hunter just can’t win with the media, no matter what he does. So he may as well just be himself.
To: Bonaparte
Reagan won partly because of Jimmy Carters total ineptness, but he mainly won because his stand on the issues appealed to many voters including me. I was a democrat up to that time! Reagan sold me on conservativism, Hunter is an extension of Reagan, IMHO!

Once again you’ve aced it, Walter! Many thanks. And many thanks to Laura Ingraham for giving Rep. Hunter all the time he needed to get his points across. God bless.
