The President says we need “Comprehensive Immigration Reform”

Besides not enforcing the laws we have, what needs to be change?

If we can monitor 25 million new immigrants, how come we cannot deport 12?

Exactly. The thinking is that we cannot possibly find & deport 12 million, so we'll give they legal status. Soooooo, how then do we ensure they follow the new "laws"?

Good bye America, I hardly knew ye.

All of the sudden, with this bill, we are going to do enforcement yada yada yada.

[They can’t even enforce the exist (old) laws, so they expect us to believe they are going to enforce these (new) laws?]

I'm just about ready to say to the President that I need his resignation. Put Dick Cheney in the driver's seat for the duration.

President Bush: You swore an oath to defend the U.S. against all ememies foreign AND domestic. You have failed. I want an 'Unapologetic Conservative' in the White House. You're not it.

from Dean Barnett over at Hughhewitt.com:

The president has rendered himself irrelevant with this idiotic gamble. What was he thinking? We’re at the most critical stage of an unpopular war, and he decides that it’s the perfect moment to go to the mattresses over the issue that most effectively separates him from his base? Either this was a piece of masterful Rovian political jujitsu that’s beyond my ken, or it was just flat out dumb.

I have no clue, but it is a huge blunder (unless the “unify North America” people are calling the shots here)

Yeah, I was thinking that when they assured me that the new "comprehensive" bill would have heavy sanctions for employers who hire illegals. Excuse me, but, don't we already have that law on the books? And, since it has been ignored for the past 20+ years, why should I believe that you are going to enforce it now?

Besides that, when this thing is signed, all of the illegals become "legal", poof. So, employers won't actually be hiring/employing illegals, will they?

As Neal Boortz says....WE DON’T NEED TO DEPORT ANYONE!!!!!!

Just enforce the employer laws with heavy fines, possible jail sentences and the illegals will go home on their own!!!!DUH!
