Deportation Laws May Tear Parents, Their Kids Apart (Crying Towel Alert!)

Deportation Laws May Tear Parents, Their Kids Apart
The Associated Press

CANCITA, Mexico - Since they joined their deported parents in Mexico, 7-year-old Adriana has stopped screaming "Papa!" in her sleep, and 10-year-old Yadira's asthma has eased. Pedro, 15, doesn't break into tears anymore, and Adrian, 12, thinks of his new life as an adventure.

For now, these American children are trying to ignore the wrenching decision they have to make by the end of summer: Stay with their parents in this bone-dry village where they bathe in a canal and use an outhouse, or return alone to some of America's best schools in Palo Alto, Calif.

Tens of thousands of families are facing similar choices, and even more soon could if Congress goes ahead with an overhaul of U.S. immigration laws.

About 3 million U.S.-born children have a parent who is living illegally in America, according to the Pew Hispanic Center, and since 2004 the government has been deporting illegal immigrants at a record rate.

The Senate is expected to begin debate Monday on a sweeping bill that would provide a pathway to citizenship for an estimated 12million illegal immigrants in the U.S. The bill would limit the importance of family ties, capping visas for parents of U.S. citizens at 40,000 a year and changing a preference system that for four decades has favored such ties.

The entire family can go back together. The USA has NO reason to feel guilty about enforcing its laws and deporting illegal aliens. The false choice in this argument is that the only way the illegal alien family can stay together is in the USA. The illegal alien lawbreaker can always take his entire family back to Mexico or wherever- no need for the separation.

This is not Americas fault, it was a conscious choice of the parents.

They decided to break American law and then decided to have “anchor” babies.

Many years ago, when I heard the term “undocumented persons”, I forecasted this thing would get entirely out of hand because of the no big deal sentiment started by hispanics and parroted by the left.

My View:
If you break the law, it’s a crime. That makes you a criminal. You are criminal because you are, and always have been, an illegal alien. I don’t care if your kids were born here. They were conceived by you who was here illegally. Take them back with you.

Ramirez never went to school. He sneaked across the border as a 16-year-old boy, learning English as he worked his way up from a minimum-wage factory job to night supervisor at an Albertson'sZZTO supermarket.

It sounds like there could be more to this story. He had a fulltime job. Why wouldnt Albertsons sponsor him for a green card?

When a parent breaks ANY law which as incarceration as a penalty, the parents and the kids are torn apart. The fault is not with the law. The fault lies with the parents who break it.

First off, I would like to see the anchore baby syndrome stopped.

Then make a simple adjustment to the immigration policy.

If kids are under 18 or 21 years of age send them home with the parent/parents.

If the child was born in America, then the child, upon reaching the age of adulthood, can then petition immigration to allow them to immigrate to this country.

The author may have forgotten to put “East” in front of Palo Alto. It’s an outhouse.

Families are hurt by criminal activity all the time-it doesn’t morally require amnesty.
