My answer to your question: mind-numbed robot voters outnumber informed voters.
Keep things in perspective:
As Tigerhawk long ago wrote, the enemy's strategy is no mystery; it is to vex and exhaust us, to foment defeatism and division at home so our civilian leadership will lose heart and withdraw our soldiers from the field, leaving them in control.
Exactly, that is what primaries are for. This is a representative society and some big issues do not have simple answers that are going to make anyone, let alone everyone happy.
How do you keep the economy running and eliminate part of your work force? Even Reagan saw the problem with that dilema.
Pray for W and Our Troops
For those that missed this little nugget last week. An open borders group known as La Raza was allowed to have veto power on what did and didn’t go into this piece of “legislation”. For those of you unfamiliar with La Raza and their cousin MEChA here’s a little taste of who was helping craft this bill.

Contends that the mythical land of Atzlan was stolen from Mexico by the United States
We see no human being as illegal. Those who have arrived to the U.S. with heritage indigenous to the Americas, and specifically those crossing the southern border, are migrants on their own continent.
La Raza Unida (the Unified Race), also known as the La Raza Unida Party, is an association of groups formed in the late 1960s and early 1970s with chapters throughout the American Southwest, most prominently in California, Colorado and Texas. As the organization explains, La Raza Unida [in Texas] organized around electing Chicanos to Boards of Education and City Councils. ... The spirit and force of La Raza Unida was truly embodied in Texas under the leadership of Jose Angel Gutierrez, a student and [the] President of the Mexican American Youth Organization. Gutierrez, an open borders advocate who founded La Raza Unida, has stated, We have an aging white America ... They are dying. ... They are sh-ing in their pants with fear! I love it! ... We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him.
La Raza Unida held its first convention in 1972. In addition to Gutierrez, prominent early members were Corky Gonzalez, Reyes Lopez Tijerina, and Cesar Chavez. The groups mission statement, according to its official website, is Re-Commit, Re-Direct, Re-Organize and Re-Claim our past Chicano activism. ... We will seek group ascendancy and solidarity among persons of Mexican American ancestry in this century.
La Raza Unida supports an open borders policy of unrestricted immigration; the effective dissolution of American borders; and amnesty, civil liberties protections, and expanded rights for illegals already residing in the United States. The organization articulates its immigration philosophy as follows: We see no human being as illegal. Those who have arrived to the U.S. with heritage indigenous to the Americas, and specifically those crossing the southern border, are migrants on their own continent.

MEChA:
ECHA (MOVIMIENTO ESTUDIANTIL DE CHICANOS DE AZTLAN)
URL :http://public.csusm.edu/student_orgs/mecha/
Radical Chicano student organization
Supports open borders, amnesty for illegal aliens, and U.S. recognition of Spanish as an official national language
Founded on a platform of racism and revanchism
Sees university as agency to fulfill political goals
Founded in 1969 at a conference at the University of California at Santa Barabara, MEChA is an acronym for El Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (the Chicano Student Movement), an umbrella organization of radical Chicano student groups. Aztlán refers to the territory in the Southwestern United States including California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, as well as parts of Nevada, Utah, and Colorado that Mexico ceded to the United States in 1848 but which Mexican separatists consider part of a mythical Aztec homeland that rightfully belongs to them.
MEChAs core philosophy is set forth in its founding manifestos, El Plan Espiritual de Aztlán and El Plan de Santa Barbara. In the former document, MEChA declares, We do not recognize capricious frontiers on the bronze continent [the United States], and vows to repel the brutal gringo invasion of our territories. MEChA further states: Where we are a majority we will control; where we are a minority we will represent a pressure group; nationally, we represent one party: La Familia de Raza [the Family of Race]. MEChAs mission finds additional expression it the organizations slogan, For la Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada, which translates to For the race, everything. Outside of the race, nothing.
Although MEChA has claimed that the aforementioned documents no longer represent its beliefs, this defense is belied by the organizations more recent documents. MEChAs current constitution, for instance, instructs chapter leaders to [o]rient all members by discussing and reading historical documents of our Movimiento including: El Plan de Santa Barbara, El Plan Espiritual de Aztlán Accordingly, MEChA member groups, such the UC Berkeley chapter, cite these documents and explain that MEChA understands that our founding documents are the fundamentals to MEChA.
By supporting continued high levels of Mexican immigration to the United States, MEChA hopes to achieve, by sheer weight of numbers, the re-partition of the American Southwest. Toward this end, the organization endorses a host of pro-immigration policies. These include open borders, government benefits (including the right to vote and obtain drivers licenses) for non-citizens, amnesty for illegal aliens, dual citizenship, state recognition of Spanish as an official language, and racial set-asides in education and corporate hiring.
MEChA espouses what it calls an ideology of Chicanismo, wherein Chicano purity is held up as a supreme virtue while assimilation is denounced as a betrayal of ethnic heritage. Those Latinos who fail to adhere to MEChAs ideological platform are condemned as race traitors. In 1995, the Voz Fronteriza, the University of California San Diegos official MEChA publication, published an editorial on the death of a Latino INS (Immigration and Naturalization Services) agent. Describing him as a traitor to his race who deserved to die, the editors of the Voz concluded that all the migra [a pejorative term for the INS] pigs should be killed, every single one.

You and others on this thread will put up with just about any betrayal or backhand from the President and eleven Republican Senators, won't you.
I have seen this time and time again over the years, from the same group of FReepers, who invoke Emily Post or some other variant with other FReepers. "Your post is not properly formulated." "You indicated criticism of our President." "You are giving in to the Democrats." "You are responsible for the 2006 loss of Congress." Right. Over and over again this contingent erects straw man arguments and ghosts in the closet to avoid the issue at hand. Which in this case is literally the destruction of America, and most certainly the Republican Party.
This is a very, very serious issue. It does no good and serves no one for you (and others) to stand on proper addressing and formal protocols when the nation faces such a monumental threat. That you cannot overlook an expression of ire to see the actual and serious points being made shows only that you'd rather avoid those issues and questions.
President George W Bush and his proxies in the Senate are about to stab America, Republicans, and conservatives in the back. It completes his plan from as far back as 2001.
Do you call this "respect"?
Yeah, he can add it to the other 150 buildings w/his name on it.
Pray for W and Our Troops
“Once I see the President referred to as Jorge I stop reading.”
President George W Bush is preparing to stab you and all conservatives in the back.
Does that work?
It will be cumbersome to have them presented at the polls, she said.
&&&&&
This is a lie! I have been an election judge for years, and many voters step up to the ‘poll book’ desk with their driver’s license in hand, and are surprised when they are told that we do not look at il.
Well said MNJ.
Outstanding.
.........and you “respect” our President in what way?
Give us an example or two.
Liddy was in the last one, and in ‘06 Lynn Swann and Michael Steel did not succeed. Is that our fault, or the voters? Or are only dim minorities counted? (That is a redundant question.)
Watch out! He will accuse you of being mean, and slandering him. :)
Still waiting?
That’s why you vote for the conservative in the primaries then vote again for that person in the General election.
Yes, at least according to the link.
I know. It’s jut part of this spin that rquiring ID is “unfair” to the voters.
What’s so unfair about making sure the person is LEGALLY qualified to vote?
I wonder why the right do this is it that more individuals consider their views the true view, have higher standards of conduct for each other or what. Whatever it is they do not stick together as much as the left do regardless of which side on the pond they come from.
What about Alan Keys? He might have lost in the last primary & to Obama Hussain, but he is intelligent than Obama Husain.
Yep. Crickets chirping, humming birds humming, pets snoring, you get the picture.
"As a result of immigration and higher birthrates among many newcomers, the number of Hispanics grew by 3.4 percent nationwide and Asians by 3.2 percent. Meanwhile, the black population rose by 1.3 percent, and that of non-Hispanic whites by 0.3 percent. (The number of American Indians and Alaska Natives increased by 1 percent, and Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders by 1.7 percent.)"
"More than 20 percent of children in the United States either are foreign-born or have a parent who was born abroad. Nearly half the children under age 5 are Hispanic, black or Asian."
If this present immigratin bill passes, our legal immigration rates will triple from one million annually to three million for more than a decade. This will increase the population projections even more.
In 1950, there were 16 workers paying Social Security taxes for every retired person receiving benefits. Today there are 3.3. By 2030, there will be only 2. 48 million Americans receive Social Security benefits, including 33 million retirees, 7 million survivors, and 8 million disabled workers. By 2030, there will be 70 million Americans of retirement age--twice as many as today. If nothing is done, by 2060, the combination of Social Security and Medicare will account for more than 71 percent of the federal budget.
I view the public policy issues of immigration and enttilement reform the two greatest threats to the future of our nation, more than the threat of militant Islamic fundamentalism.
