The proposed immigration deal will throw open our doors to increased immigration from Muslim lands, not just Mexico. From the US State Department website: "The fourth and most recent wave of Muslim immigration (into the US) has come after 1965, the year President Lyndon Johnson sponsored an immigration bill that repealed the longstanding system of quotas by national origin. Under the new system, preferences went to relatives of U.S. residents and those with special occupational skills needed in the United States. The new law was a signal act in American history, making it possible for the first time since the early part of the 20th century for someone to enter the country regardless of his or her national origin. After 1965, immigration from Western Europe began to decline significantly, with a corresponding growth in the numbers of persons arriving from the Middle East and Asia. In this era more than half of the immigrants to America from these regions have been Muslim." (italics added)

I've thought a lot about this- once the floodgates are opened, anyone and everyone can come here, not just Jose and his lovely Mexican village.

It should be called the Al Qaeda Open Borders Entry Act Of 2007.

I don’t believe there has been a more anti-american congress. Ben Franklin warned us of this.
We the people need to take action and take our government back.

Nobody listens to the Avergae American anymore. We work hard to pay our bills and we just get dumped on by those in power...
Too bad we dont have a Policial Party or PAC to represent us, isnt it?

I just said on another thread..my brain is spinning.
It’s hard to focus on one of the myriad ways this bill is disastrous to our nation.
You’re correct- the national security implications cannot be overlooked here.

This just gets worse and worse.
I very rarely drink if at all, I often joke saying that "I do not need the assistance of alcohol to make a fool out of myself, I do do quite well without it." B-) Still seeing crap like that makes me want to start. B-P I know my father seems to be "radical middle" or "radical out there" on politics but he did say that President G.W. Bush is like "LBJ II" or "LBJ Jr" and I think he is right in the long run with this immigration bill and it seems like we are having our hands tied in the fight for Iraq.
There are times I wonder if the U.S. has "jumped the shark" or not, I might ruffle a few feathers and say we did and are on borrowed time but seeing crap like this only confirms my suspicions. I fear that to restore things to where they should be, it will come to some bloodshed first and a lot of innocents will be hurt or worse. B-(

As you know the sleeper cells are already here populated by the US born kids of Muslims already here. They have their wives here popping out kids and they more wives back in Yemen doing the same. Kid turns 18... he comes here as the child of a citizen.
And they keep on a-coming in...we expect thousands of Iraqis this summer.

Did you see that other thread about illegals
not having to pay back taxes once they acquire amnesty...?? Hell, even the illegals who got amnesty back in '86 had to pay some back taxes to the IRS.
Here's the punchline : Even Kennedy's draft of the legislation had a provision requiring the payment of back taxes to IRS, but at the insistence of Bush's very own DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff that requirement was yanked.
It's worse than we think. This administration is the left of Kennedy on immigration.
