Here's an interesting old post from several years ago where I was promoting the Republican party over the Democrat party because the Democrat party was not only thoroughly corrupt, but evil as well. And the evil I was referring to was primarily due to its official party support for government sanctioned wholesale slaughter of innocent and helpless life in the womb: abortion. So now if Giuliani becomes the head of the Republican party and abortion becomes the official policy of the Republican party, does the Republican party also wear the mantle of "evil?" How do we keep this evilness out of government if both major parties support abortion? And I have to ask as did my political foes of old, if both parties support abortion, feminism, homosexualism, hate crimes/thought crimes legislation, gun control, illegal immigration, etc, what's the difference?
The Democrat Party is beyond corrupt, It's also evil.

And what is this evil that triumphs when good men do nothing? What are we really talking about here and is it worth fighting for? Is it worth turning our heads and allowing evil to continue on while we do nothing? (and I count voting for a third party candidate when knowing that he has absolutely no chance of defeating the Democrat, and worse, actually planning and hoping to knock out the Republican candidate who otherwise might have defeated the Democrat, as doing nothing).
Corruption is accepting campaign cash from the Chinese in exchange for military hardware. Corruption is accepting campaign cash as bribes from Indonesian power brokers, from Buddhist Monks, from corrupt corporate moguls. Corruption is defined by the myriad criminal acts and practices of the Clintons and the Gores and their corrupt Democrat minions.
Corruption is the land grabs, the power grabs, the gun grabs, the bribery, the shady deals, the high crimes and treason. Corruption is the theft of campaign dollars through forced labor union deductions. Corruption is the systematic indoctrination of several generations of our youth with socialist dogma via government school systems. Corruption is the removal of God from public life and substituting in the evil homosexual/feminist agenda and the destruction of moral society. Corruption is lying to the public about global warming and the selling of the Kyoto treaty. Corruption is giving up our national sovereignty to the United Nations. Corruption is the abuses of office, obstruction of justice, lying, perjury and subornation of perjury.
The Democrat Party is thoroughly corrupt. There is no question about that, but it's way beyond corrupt. It's also evil.
Waco was evil. The killing of innocent men, women, children and babies is evil. Torturing them for weeks on end, gassing them, and then burning them alive is pure evil. This was perpetrated by a corrupt and evil Democrat Administration and covered-up by corrupt and evil Democrat Congressmen and Senators, many of whom you are saying should be allowed to remain in office even today.
And as bad as that is, it pales in comparison to the Democrat government sanctioned and funded wholesale slaughter of the most innocent life of all, the murder of innocent human life in the womb. This is evil. Pure evil. And this evilness is openly perpetrated by a thoroughly corrupt and evil Democrat Party. The same corrupt and evil Democrat Congress and Judiciary whom you are now saying deserve to remain in office.
IMHO, allowing these Democrats to remain in power is aiding and abetting the corruption and treason, and is acting as an accessory before and after the fact to the murderers of innocent human life. Is doing nothing and allowing this evil to triumph evil itself?
I love my country. I love the Constitution. I love life. I love God. I know that the Democrats hate my country, hate the Constitution, hate God and hate human life. I see that the only Party capable of blocking and defeating the evil Democrats is the Republican Party. I see that many races are so close that as little as a one percent siphon of conservative votes to a third party could be the difference between success and failure. I see allowing a Democrat to remain in power when it could have been prevented as a triumph of evil.

I think some of the items in the post can equally be attributed to the GOP.

Hell no. Why should I believe him? The man's been lying to the entire nation about his abortion stand for months. He only partially admitted to the truth because his campaign was going down the toilet and it became obvious to all that he couldn't spin it away. He believes abortion is a constitutional right. He believes that Roe vs Wade is good constitutional law. He doesn't want it overturned and will not appoint judges who will overturn it. If Giuliani is successful in muscling out the conservative wing of the party and abortion, gay rights, gay unions (marriage), thought crimes, gun control, sanctuary cities, amnesty, etc, become party platforms, then the Republican party becomes just as evil as the Democrat party. The GOP has already become just as bad as the Democrats when it comes to big government, big spending, corruption and unwillingness/inability to secure the nation, so now there will be no difference at all.
Hey, Jim! You certainly get no argument from me!
Those of us on FR need to stand TOGETHER behind a consistent conservative with all the qualifications needed to guide us out of these sinister times.
Instead of allowing outside situations to divide us into mediocrity, we could wield more power against the evils in our governments from the local to state to national as one strong body. With God’s help, we can make a difference now that will restore peace and prosperity for all. But it will take ALL of us to achieve that.
With God’s help we can elect Duncan Hunter into the White House, and with God’s help put truly conservative American Patriots back on Capitol Hill to help him get our country back on the right track.
To say the least,Jim
Thanks for the reply. I wish Duncan Hunter’s campaign would take off... If I had my pick, he’s the one. But I still cannot allow a Democrat to become Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces.
What I am watching on the House floors being done to our troops today is simply horrifying to me.
Wrong. Didn't you see the attitude of the departing Rudy supporters: "The conservatives have held their boot to the neck of the GOP for too long. The nation has moved away from conservatism. Conservatives cannot win. The GOP needs to govern from the middle. Abortion and gun control, etc., should never again be allowed to be dominate issues."
The RINOs, moderates, centrists and outright liberals within the GOP who fervently support Rudy actually do support his liberal stances. They want Roe vs Wade to survive. They're ok with the gay agenda and want it to succeed. They want gun control. They want amnesty for illegals. They're ok with and favor big government.
If they succeed in dumping the pro-life conservative wing from the GOP, there will be nothing stopping them from moving their agenda.
I really don’t think Giuliani will have much effect either pro-abortion or anti-abortion if he becomes president.
Conservatives are only represented by the Republican party. There are no other realistic alternatives at this time.
The Republicans are in a corner because of Iraq. Circumstances change, but Conservatives have to be patient. If we start panicking and running towards the exit doors, we will create a catastrophe worse than the present problem.
I am not an apologist for Rudy. I am decidedly anti-abortion. But the numbers speak for themselves.
There is too much at stake to start a civil war about this right now.
And if Fred Thompson enters the race the whole calculus is going to change.
You can't. You can't because Government is inherently evil. Our Founders recognized this and wisely built what they thought would be an iron barred cage to hold it in perpetuity.
They were also wise enough to limit it to only a few carefully enumerated powers beyond which it could not tread.
Sadly that situation no longer attains and I fear that trying to put that genie back in the bottle is a fools errand. One cannot put the toothpaste back in the tube so to speak.
The best we can do is fight a holding action and try to stop the Federal government from getting any bigger or grabbing any more of the power that was 'reserved to the States respectively, or to the People'.
There are really only two guys on 'our' side talking about that old fashioned Federalism stuff; Ron Paul and to a lesser extent Fred Thompson. One of them is routinely called a nutjob around here and the other one hasn't even bothered to tell us if he's actually running or if he's just jerking our chains for some reason.
As far as the 'mainstream' Republicans go, they have about as much intention of casting the Federal Government back into its Constitutionally designed prison as the Democrats do. They've discovered the joy of being in charge and tossing billions and billions of taxpayer dollars around.
So even if Ron Paul were to win the Presidency, it would avail us not at all. There is too significant a majority of those 535 nincompoops in the House and Senate who like things just the way they are.
"If it moves, we Federalize it." That's not just a Dem saying any more.
So even the thought of fighting a holding action doesn't bode well for the future. The best defense is a good offense after all and if we just try to defend the few scraps of Constitutional governance left ultimately we will lose. Unfortunately if we try to go on offense we're very likely to lose also.
In my view, Government is very much like that One Ring in the LOTR movies. No matter who wears it, ultimately the evil contained in it will take one over. A poor analogy I know, but it's the best one I can come up with.
What's the solution? I honestly don't know. Until we can find persons of sterner stuff to get into Congress we're doomed to be at the mercy of a bunch of slugs who only want to rule, and that's not what our Government was designed for.
But one things for sure. Continuing to deliberately wreck th carefully designed system we were handed is going to lead to a very, very bad end.

I wish that Fred Thompson and the GOP leadership would read this essay. I just imagined how the GOP candidates would react after reading this — I can think of only a few who would agree, a few who would truly believe in fighting for our Republic. Rudy would dismiss it as divisive and McCain would call it hate speech. I can picture Fred and Duncan nodding in agreement with you.
good response. Government is indeed inherently evil. If our Founders were around today, they would be called worse than “right-wing nuts.”
homosexuality and human/child sacrifice were the twin pillars of the religions that predate judeo christianity. the msm, pretend that they are anti religious. not true. they are profoundly religious. however, their religion is very primitive and profoundly pagan.
From Jackson to Jackson they have always represented the worst of American society. They have always been for surrender and underhanded government. I recently read that in 1862 the democrat mayor of New York City tried to secede and join the Confederacy as a separate âCity-Stateâ.
Jim's 1st sentence corroberates this: "And what is this evil that triumphs when good men do nothing?"
I agree.
We can’t let JulieAnnie become the nomine. We must fight for conservative values and life. We can’t become like the Party of Death over at the DUmp.
The Democrats dread Fred!
