I admire your patience. I have none at this point for those types.

Rudy is a liberal on social issues. He is a fiscal conservative in talk ... but that does not always translate to the same in action.

Tancredo owned the night. He was the far out winner. McCrazy fumbled just about every answer and rudy julie gets props for reminding me of my grandmother with those female reading glasses.

Yeah there are problems. what do you suggest? Isolationism? We have to engage the world in order to lead.

No not at all. But I do suggest we re-build our military strength back to where two bit nations do not feel so confident to take us on. Many people think Ron Paul would not tell with heads of state sponsoring terrorism. He would deal with them in much less intrusive manner and still work within the Constitution. Letter or Marque is the answer in the M.E.

Ron Paul was the only Republican to call for a formal declaration of war. Why was that? To prevent a nation building project that Bush had planned from before the invasion began? To make the war in Iraq a strictly military mission to eliminate any future threats? Or maybe he wanted Bush to use other Constitutional means available before sending hundreds of thousands of troops to Iraq? Maybe he wanted to avoid another crisis like the one LBJ created? maybe he didn't want to repeat Post WW2 history?

“I think all of the candidate would be Great Presidents, but unfortunately with today’s political climate in America they don’t have a snowball’s chance in ...”

Nooooooooooooooo

Only Hunter and Tancredo would be great in leadership...

and Hunter and Tancredo do have a chance..

I don’t necessarily agree with Paul 100% myself—but at least he’s not blindly following into the breach. I don’t think anyone can win for the GOP unless they are running against Bush, and Paul makes that clear with his opposition to the war. Tancredo, and to a lesser extent Hunter, have done similarly with immigration. None of the others can differentiate themselves enough to win in 2008, damn the polls. Americans are tired of lesser-of-two-evils candidacies from the GOP.

I will say this for Hannity—I’d rather we chose his wannabe Manifest Destiny over the current milquetoast ‘surge.’ Hannity’s at least got a serious aim, while our aim seems to be holing up until the Islamists get tired. This didn’t work in Israel and it won’t work in Iraq—the Israelis finally had to build a wall and keep the Islamists out.

Gotta love how some freepers denounce McCain and Graham as "traitors" to the GOP because they're weak on illegals and support unconstitutional "bipartisan" initiatives, but when Fred votes the EXACT SAME WAY, by golly, he should be leader of the free world.

They are all weak on 1A. All except Paul anyway. And Paul has his own problems as have been easily documented on this thread.

If a huge number of people vote third party, I hope that the GOP will learn not to nominate someone like Rudy Giuliani again.

Two words: Ross Perot.

I agree with you both on that response. It really caught me off-guard and makes it hard for me to support him.
I never plan to own or even use an assault weapon but once you start tinkering with Constitutional amendments only bad things can happen.
Stay safely away from slippery slopes.

Reagan supported the Brady Bill...you gonna toss out his entire Conservative Legacy or diminish what he did and call him a Liberal over that?

Sadly I think I already know the answer.

We've been duly warned about Romney given the comments on Assault Weapons.

Hunter will Never win the general election, face the facts

Rudy Giuliani can't win. Duncan Hunter is a longshot, but he could hold together the coalition that allows the GOP to win. If Rudy Giuliani is the nominee, the coalition falls apart and the Democrats not only win the presidency but make huge gains in Congress.

But Fred’s gotta get in the game like YESTERDAY. Now psst, right now!

Nah, Fred is playing it smart. Reagan didn't announce until Nov. 13 1979. That was just a few months before the primaries began and 51 weeks until the general election in 1980. This continuos election cycle is a creation of the 24 hour news media; Thompson is getting as much or more attention than the declared candidates, all while the anticipation grows. Good things come to those who wait.

If you want to get a good laugh you need to read Ron Paul’s floor speech before the Iraq War vote.

Paul doesn’t believe Iraq gassed the Kurds or tried to assassinate George Bush Sr. It’s like he took every point for invading Iraq and struggled to come up with some reason to disbelieve the rationale. Bizarre.
