Brownback is trying to outdo Romney’s do but I still think Mitt has the best hair.

Iraq is a perfect example. We have achieved nothing by going there ...

What is your issue with Dr. Paul? You don’t like the fact that he wants to address WHY people are upset with us instead of just killing them all Bush style?

“As I said...the Republicans in his CD would rather hold their nose and vote for him than surrender the seat to someone more Liberal than Paul is. Thos[e] of you NOT from Texas should really listen to those of us that ARE wher he is concerned.”

‘Tex,’ you wouldn’t know politics in Paul’s district if it bit you on the ass. He has won ten elections in a row there, even opposed by those Republicans. He’s the Jesse Helms of Brazoria, buddy, and in your haste to pretend to local political knowledge, don’t you forget it.

I agree. I think , so far anyway , Rudy is the only one who can beat Klinton. We have a lot of time though . Sorry , I’m being realistic here. I’d like to see Tancredo in to be honest but no way will he win and we’ll have a socialist government in the US in 08 and the Klintons back in power ...

I think it's hysterical that the poll is being antifreeped. Maybe this will put an end to the reliance on these things by the MSM.

It is a benefit. :-)

A reference was made to “Roy Howard” (I believe)
Could someone explain that to me?

There is nothing in their "mentality" to understand, they are barbarians pure and simple. No reason or justification is possible for 9/11. America did not ask for it and shares no responsibility for the actions of insane religious fanatics in sand-land. Moral culpability (something I extend to insane people btw) is entirely in their hands, not ours. To say that we are in any way culpable is an affront to both morality and logic, akin to Islamic short-bus rejects blaming the rape victim for dressing suggestively.

I agree that it would be best if America had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MIDDLE EAST. Energy independence is the first step (but now I am getting OT). I support non-interventionist foreign policy, disagreed with the invasion of Iraq, and don't care about 3rd world dictators cutting off the hands of their political opponents (in the sense that I do not think it is the American government's job to do something about it). After 9/11, if I was in charge I would have asked the Taliban for OBL and his supporters. Upon refusal, it would have been Dresden all over again, followed by a second chance. Upon refusal a second time, the entire nation of Afghanistan would have been wiped off the face of the earth. Even the caveman understood fear and respected power - I don't know how much higher we can climb up the rationality tree when dealing with certain cultures.

See, I think the neocons are full of s**t too, I can't stand them, never could, they are a disease on conservatism. THERE I SAID IT, they are utopians, they are dumb*ss Wilsonians and New Dealers. But the moment Ron Paul shifted to America an OUNCE of moral culpability for what was wrought on 9/11, we parted ways in our opposition to certain aspects of foreign policy. 9/11 can in no way be construed as an act of self-defense on behalf of the camel rapists, and if it could I would concede the point. Ron Paul has lost his mind, and it is a shame considering the way most others in government treat the Constitution like toilet paper..

After 9/11, who do you think Congress should have declared war against?

McLame can try to run from his record but it speaks for itself.
He trampled all over the first amendment with McCain-Feingold and will never earn forgiveness from me. He has been the media’s darling and LIBS best friend on everything except the war.
That is the biggest issue but not enough for me to forget all of his defections to the dark side.

Ron Paul by suggesting that this country deserved being attacked on 9/11 is not sound in his thinking on ANY level period. Therefore he cannot be sound in his foreign policy thinking either and is not to be trusted under any circumstances.

Unquestionably. And I repeat my query of several days ago to our good host: Jim, is an open an admitted 9/11 "truther" -- one who also believes (by his own admission tonight) that we "deserved" to be attacked by Islamofascists -- considered a credible and legitimate potential Republican nominee for the U.S. presidency?

Giuliani supporters were (quite rightly) admonished not to openly promulgate anti-conservative memes and positions of equivalent toxicity and perniciousness on this site, just a few short weeks ago.

“al-Qaeda declared war on us.”

Where is the nation of al-Qaeda? Oh yes, that’s right, there is none. Go after them, don’t start invading willy nilly.

We’re not doing anything like Jefferson would have done. Did you see Jefferson occupy Tripoli for 5 years?

We did bring Perl Harbor onto ourselves because of our foreign policy. We were shooting at U-Boats in the Atlantic, Lend Lease, we cut off Japanese oil and iron shipments (which ensured war, Japan had no other oil access sufficient to supply its war machine). You’d better believe that if we were in the same situation that we put Japan in (one year before no oil) we’d have to go to war.

What good did it do us to go to war with Germany? All we did was save the world for COMMUNISM! Good job Roosevelt, you saved your communist buddies and nearly got us nuked into oblivion for the next few decades. Aren’t wars great when they create monstrous villains?
