I can not imagine anyone on FR making even remotely similar comments if it were someone from the left who just died.HUH? Are you serious?
If Bubba or Hillary were to meet their demise, this place would turn into Carnival.

I’d dance a jig for Jimmy Carter.

No it wouldn’t. Go back and read the well wishes and prayers for Clinton when he had his heart attack, and when that SD senator was stricken with the blood clot. FR never makes fun of the sick or dying or dead.
To: DCPatriot
There would indeed be some who would gloat, but they would be countered/challenged and their posts perhaps pulled by the side-bar moderators. Because FR has a conscience.
At DU there is no conscience at all.

If Bubba or Hillary ...
Don’t think so.
Serious and relieved, but not a “carnival”

If Bubba or Hillary were to meet their demise, this place would turn into Carnival. I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with you on that. I don't think Jim would allow that. He's a decent human being.

If Bubba or Hillary were to meet their demise, this place would turn into Carnival. Most FReepers would not act like that, and the ones that do,will be taken care of by Mr. Jim , and the mods.

We have learned our lesson. I would agree that back-in-the-day, some posters here used to revel in other’s misfortune. But that hasn’t happened on FR for a long, long time. If it did, the Moderators would come down hard and fast.
As well they should. Even our political rivals are human and deserve human compassion.
As for terrorists like Zarkawi, well, I will not refrain from whooping it up when one of them shuffles off the mortal coil...

Rest in Peace, Reverend Falwell.
Now.DCPatriot, to you. You need to wander over to the liberal blog sites right now. Go ahead, have a look at their reaction.
You just don’t see it here, DCPatriot, no matter how much you wish it to be so, it just isn’t.

If Bubba or Hillary were to meet their demise, this place would turn into Carnival.Sorry to have to disagree - when Slick had his heart surgery, people here were praying for his recovery. The miniscule number who deigned to take pleasure in it were severely chastised, and slunk away, as they should have.
To: DCPatriot
There would be some of that. But the ratio of hateful post to well wishes is much larger at DU then it is here. And the really hateful stuff gets deleted.

Most of us do not care if Bubba and Bubbette walk the earth for decades to come, we just do not want them ever walking the halls of the White House again.

I would argue that. I was on a thread dealing with Klintoon’s heart surgery(?). There was hardly a nasty comment there.
And I hate the man. But I still wish him well because you never know, he could change. And God could change him. Or at least, God could save his soul even if not on Earth.
