The Rev. Jerry Falwell arrived at Lynchburg General Hospital today around noon after being found unresponsive in his office. Ron Godwin, the executive vice president of Liberty University, confirmed that Falwell was found unconscious in his office after missing an appointment this morning.
That was indeed fast. The wonders of the worldwide web.
I was never a fan of Falwell, but he did some praiseworthy missionary work during his life. RIP
Prayers for his family, church and college.
If that is true, it speaks to Jerry’s graciousness and goodness....not Larry Flynt’s.
I am relatively new here, but if I ever see champagne bottle graphics here upon someone else’s demise, I will leave permanently. This forum and Jim R deserve much more respect than that. Thanks for your posts.
RIP Reverend Falwell.
This is so sad, but he certainly did the Lord’s work here on earth. I am sure the Lord has already greeted him with “Well done, good and faithful servant”.
I have never wondered any place where the hateful people are except this time when I read post about them and I was wondering what they had to say..It should not have surprised me at all what kind of animals lurk there..I agree with you!!
Excuse me? Stop accusing me of things like that.
Suggest you go back to grieving and stop pontificating.
There would be some of that. But the ratio of hateful post to well wishes is much larger at DU then it is here. And the really hateful stuff gets deleted.
Go back and read your own posts.
Did that whole thing stike you as strange as it did me? A generation ago you could assume an educated man would know at least the basics of Christianity, but I guess you can’t anymore.
A person didn't have to agree with him on all issues to appreciate what he helped accomplish for the Conservative movement. Rest in peace preacher. We need more like you who were not afraid to speak up and stand up for what was right. It may surprise some to know he was a DEM or was when he helped form the Moral Majority.
Say what you want about the man, he stood up for what’s right and he founded the Moral Majority. I’m sure the DUer’s are cheering but let them, their punishment awaits them.
Odd that you jumped in to defend someone defending the leftists.
As I stated to another poster, there are jerks on every board. The difference is....the liberal blogs today, the tone of every thread is the same, it’s not just a few posters, it’s the vast majority and the comments are all on the same vein.
If it’s happened here in the past, I’m glad it’s behind us. Please don’t defend the liberals, this isn’t the first time they’ve done this.
It’s Bush Derangement Syndrome and it reaches to anyone even remotely associated with the President.
Sorry it's not a hyperlink, just copy and paste into URL.
He like most celebrity ministers have made mistakes, but the net is that he was a godly influence.
It did strike me as strange. I couldn’t figure out why Savage seemed insulted by it. It seemed to really bother him.
Please dont defend the liberals, Laurie
I'm just pointing out that after being in here for nine years, I know damned well we'd see dozens of deleted posts in the event of a Hillary demise.
And if you don't agree, then we should just agree to disagree.
regards...
