He’s gone home. No doubt there’ll be a cheering crowd on his arrival.

You know, I go to that site and read those hateful comments and I cannot believe that the people we have running the house and senate represent those lunatics.

>>You should see the utter EXPLOSION of hatred from the leftists

How would they feel if Rev. Jesse Jackson were to pass on?
(a preacher they have no prob with). You’d see no venom
if that happened.

Yeah. I met him once, too. He had an incredible personal presence. God be with his family and the community of faith he nurtured.

Going Home

They say there’s a place , where dreams have all gone
They never said where, but I think I know
Its miles through the night just over the dawn
On the road that will take me home

I know in my bones, I’ve been here before
The ground feels the same, though the land’s been torn
I’ve a long way to go, the stars tell me so
On this road that will take me home.

Love waits for me round the bend
Leads me endlessly on
Surely sorrows shall find their end
and all our troubles will be gone
And I know what I’ve lost, and all that I won
when the road finally takes me home

And when I pass by , don’t lead me astray
Don’t try and stop me , don’t stand in my way
I’m bound for the hills where cool waters flow
on this road that will take me home

Love waits for me round the bend
Leads me endlessly on
Surely sorrows shall find their end
and all our troubles will be gone
And we’ll know what we’ve lost and all that we’ve won
when the road finally takes me home.

I’m going home
I’m going home
I’m going home

They say there’s a place , where dreams have all gone
They never said where, but I think I know
Its miles through the night just over the dawn
On the road that will take me home

I know in my bones, I’ve been here before
The ground feels the same, though the land’s been torn

Love waits for me round the bend
Leads me endlessly on
Surely sorrows shall find their end
and all our troubles will be gone
And we’ll know what we’ve lost and all that we’ve won

I’m going home
I’m going home
I’m going home

Baptists need a ping.

Despite naysayers, Jerry Falwell’s Moral Majority set the ground work for much of the conservative movement that followed. Many of today’s conservative figureheads got their start at Moral Majority, including Cal Thomas.

Some of the remaining memories I have of my grnadmother are that she watched Falwell’s Old Time Gospel Hour every week.

Any ill will intended toward him, in my prescense is unwelcome. He was a very humble man, despite the lure of pride because of all that God had put under his charge.

The angels are playing harps for a hero’s welcome home.

When you consider that he’s built Liberty University into a 10,000+-student institution, with very well-regarded academic departments (and not just in theology), in only 36 years? It’s an amazing accomplishment.”

You are so right. And that’s just one of his legacies.

I really feel like he can’t be replaced. Of course, God is in control, now and forever. Yet....I feel a tremendous sense of loss. Sort of like an era has ended.

I suppose my prayer is that thousands - perhaps Liberty grads., perhaps others who were touched by his life and minsitry - would rise up to take his place.

Over the last decade or so, personally, I have moved to a much more Calvinistic theology. In that context, I have heard a lot of people sort of thumb their noses at the likes of Falwell and another great one, Tim LaHaye. I was always quick to respond that perhaps I don’t buy all of Jerry’s theology, yet none of us can claim to have advanced the kingdom as much as him. Not even close! This man was a might warrior for God. I shudder to think what depths of depravity America would be in if not for the faithful witness, testimony, activism and preaching of this great man of God.

I am sad today for America.

The filth at DU is eye opening. How repulsive can a human being get. I’d like to show some hardcore Demonrats in my area some of those comments. Show them what their party has become. I do hope Rev. Falwell finds rest with Jesus.

Their hate is oozing upon reading about Falwell.

The Godless creatures at Democratic Underground are having a field day with this news. I’ve never seen the f-word used so often in one place. Those people are pathetic.

There are times when I am curious what is going on at DU just to see, but this is not one of those times. I KNOW what they are saying because they are pure evil and, as you say, GODLESS creatures.

I say let them exist in the reality of their own sick creation. Sooner or later, everyone dies and it is at that time that they will be judged. Reverend Falwell will be judged well.

So correct.

Below is an example of the "tolerant" far, far left from somebody named Hawaii Hiker ...

It is very difficult to feel bad for him the so-called "religious right" has been among the most mean-spirited & vicious people this planet has ever seen...Those bastards danced in the streets (?) when Matthew Shepard was brutally murdered...A fundy nearly killed Larry Flynt decades ago...And they've done countless acts of violence to abortion clinics, gay nightclubs, etc.... The proper term for them would be the religious wrong..

Dr. Falwell is absent from the body but present with the Lord... I know I should be sad, but it does not get any better than that. To see His face and hear Him say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

I can not imagine anyone on FR making even remotely similar comments if it were someone from the left who just died.

HUH? Are you serious?

If Bubba or Hillary were to meet their demise, this place would turn into Carnival.

I won't even go over to that site.

Today, it proves that the nickname the DU has is well earned..
