The Rev. Jerry Falwell arrived at Lynchburg General Hospital today around noon after being found unresponsive in his office. Ron Godwin, the executive vice president of Liberty University, confirmed that Falwell was found unconscious in his office after missing an appointment this morning.
I attended a CCM (contemporary Christian music) concert once at the Vine center on the LU campus. At one point, the band invited Jerry on stage and presented him with a large red tee-shirt bearing the band's logo. He pulled it on over his business suit and danced a few steps while the crowd went wild and chanted "Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!" You could sense the warmth and deep affection between him and the kids.
The man was for real.
I think your comment says it all.
God bless his family and his soul. Our country will miss him and he will be remembered historically as one of Americas most famous spiritual leaders.
Prayers.

"If Hillary Rodham Clinton is the Democrats' presidential nominee in 2008, it will motivate conservative evangelical Christians to oppose her more than if the devil himself were running, the Rev. Jerry Falwell has told pastors at a "values" conference."
His death is a shock, and I will miss this great man.
Well done, Reverand.

The Godless creatures at Democratic Underground are having a field day with this news. I’ve never seen the f-word used so often in one place. Those people are pathetic.
Amen. Even in that instance, God has a plan.
That is the way God took my father. Setting up my moms' meds and just fell off the chair and went to be with Jesus...
Prayers for the family and for his congregation.
Jerry has gone to be with his Lord. Welcome home Rev. Fallwell, well done good and faithful servant!
“I suppose DU is throwing a party?”
Absolutely. I can’t tell you how much fodder they supply.
This is pricelss:
“Now who’s going to have sex with his mother in an outhouse? Bornaginhooligan May-15-07 01:49 PM #62”
Pray for his family’s comfort, but he is now in the presence of his Lord and is experiencing unspeakable joy and peace. It is for those who will miss him that we should feel sadness.
Prayers for his family. May his soul rest peacefully in the Lord.
“I have no ties to the man - and yet that emotion hits me.”
Maybe it’s because, whether you agree or disagree with him, you know a true American and a friend of all patriots has passed away.
And that was why he was hated by the Dems and non believers!
Luke 6:22
22 Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake.

Very sad news! May God raise up another with the courage and conviction that Dr. Falwell has exampled for us!
