When Move America Forward asked if they could use my son's picture for an ad, I was honored. The message on the poster and print ad is "Surrender Is Not an Option!" These would have been Derek's very words. Because of my son, I continue the fight. Will you please help? Speaker Pelosi is guilty of many things, but mainly abandoning our troops. She continues to say that "America has spoken." I'm not sure who she is listening to, but it is not my voice or the voice of my son's. I will join Move America Forward in San Francisco on Thursday morning, outside Nancy Pelosi's office so that she can hear my voice. Will you please join us? If you can't please pass this message on to supportive groups in that area. We need Patriot Guard, Veterans, good Rupublicans, and good Americans. We need people who want to continue to support our troops. Please join Melonie Morgan, Gold Star father, Joseph Williams, John Ubaldi and myself and let our voices be heard. We owe this much to our troops with boots on the ground and those that have made the ultimate sacrifice to this country! See time and place at MoveAmericaForward.com Thank you, Debbie Argel Bastian Proud mother of Capt. Derek Argel, USAF Combat Control Deployed to heaven, Memorial Day, 2005
And that, my friends, is how people excuse themselves from doing anything. Thank God everyone's not like this poster.
No excuses there.
It's an absolute recognition of the fact that when you're not in the majority and the majority vote will count, that your efforts are not going to be realized. You'll notice that my statement was "when public opinion shifts and it shows itself in elections". In other words, when it does shift you can't do anything about it. You may try to do something about the future, after that point in time, but there are some political analysts, in the Republican Party who say that they fear that it may put the Republicans so far down (politically speaking) that they won't recover for more than a decade or more. That's why many Republicans now are looking for a way to "get in front" of that shift that they see is coming.
What happens instead is simply a denial of reality. After denial comes anger. I expect the anger part will be happening about the time of the 2008 elections. We got a little sampling of that (i.e., the "anger" part) after the last Congressional elections. It's actually still evident from some posters and on some threads, even today. It hasn't quite dissapated yet.
It will be the same come 2008 and afterward.

You are disrupting this thread Star Traveler.
Don’t ever ping me or post to me again.

Well, sorry to hear that, so I just posted to myself, instead (and the others who were included in that last reply to me (courtesy of StarCMC).
And you'll notice, that I was doing so (in putting your name in there), because one of the other posters included you. Therefore what one does is "as a courtesy" to another poster to include him in the "conversation" that someone else brought you in on. Perhaps you should also notify that other person that they should not have included you in on that last posting.
But, even so, I didn't know that there were so many sensitive people regarding these kinds of political discussions. But, apparently so. As you look through my posts, you will see that I've been rather mild and fairly even handed and have been "matter of fact" in describing things.
And you know..., this is an extremely relevant topic, considering that it's promoting a big shift in the public's mind and the fact that we had such a big shift in the last Congressional elections.
You'll notice that all along on my posts that I've always been a very strong advocate of the policy of getting rid of the enemy that comes from the religio-fanatical-governmental idealogy of Islam. They are truly the enemy.
However, in discussing the policy shift that is coming about in our political landscape, that is doing nothing more than discussing reality. It would seem that in discussing this shifting political landscape and even how it's detrimental to our country's fight against the religio-fanatical-governmental idealogy of Islam -- it is simply more than some people can do. I don't know what to say about that. It absolutely needs to be discussed, because the political shift is happening right before our eyes.
Well, that's about it, so I'll get going once again...

I’ll bump that. Waiting to hear from you!
It sounds like youve already surrendered. Fortunately, you are still in the minority.
Well, I know it's still hard for some people to separate out the idea of "support our troops" from the real-life political developments here in the States, but that's just the facts of the matter. We'll support our troops even when they are withdrawing from Iraq -- and withdrawing too soon, so that it will end up being a disaster for the U.S. policy over there.
The fact of the matter is that I'm not in the minority for recognizing that such a thing is coming down the pike. It surely is. And the quicker people get a hold of that idea of what is happening, the better it will be for them.
Surrender may not be an option -- but the fact of the matter is that it might not be your choice to make. And that's the big problem here...

Things went very well this morning. I’m very happy I was able to participate. You can see the pics at Move America Forward. Thanks, Deb
Stop pinging me. And I doubt Debbie Argel wants to hear from you either.
Great, Debbie! I’ll go over and look at the pics.
Nice list.
Hey, thanks!
I am so proud of brave Americans who show up for these events. Some hide behind the walls of the internet, and others really show their support. We were able to speak our message, and that is what is important to me. God bless those who came to support us.
Deb
I’m on my way to Times Square right now to give a big shout out for the recruiters!
Thanks for all you do, Debs. You are an inspiration.
