First of all Romney is not a kook. I don’t care what religion he is for I shall vote for the man I feel does the best job at hand. I believe the Mormon faith is as good as any other that believer in Jesus .As far as God being within you , Moses said that when he came down from the mountain. Moses said God’s light is in everyman.I know about the appearance of God to Joseph Smith and WE DO NOT KNOW IF THAT HAPPENED OR NOT. People today dohn’t believe that , but, as a Catholic I say it could have happened , no body picks who God comes to only Al Sharpton. His faith is who he is , I see a lot of people listening to Glenn Beck and he is the same faith. I think you vote the best for our country. If the man gets down on his knees and prays to God for guidance that, ok by me. He has the worlds best advisor.

I don’t think Mitt Romney is a kook either and he seems to be a decent man. He was a good govenor of Massachussetts and has demonstrated good leadership skills in his leadership of that state and as the Chairman of the Salt Lake City Olympic games. I flew with him on a flight to DC in coach when he and his wife were coming in for Reagan’s funeral. (I commend him for his frugality flying on the public dollar)

However, Mormonism is an aberrant cult and deviates greatly from Orthodox Christianity. The Bible tells us to test the Spirits carefully.

1John 4

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3and every spirit that does not confess Jesus* is not from God.

Credible Christian apologetics ,the Catholic Church, and orthodox Protestants all which have a strong foundation in Orthodoxy know the difference. John Ankerberg has done a good job on this:

HUH??? If what Joseph Smith claimed actually did happen then a large chunk of what Christians believed for the last 2000 years is flat out false! The Mormon concept of God is so foreign to Christianity that the Catholic Church will not recognize Mormon baptisms and insists that all converts from Mormonism must be baptized within the Church. At the root of Mormon teachings are some very anti-Catholic assumptions about the corruption of Christianity.

If you are Catholic then your faith must tell you that Joseph Smiths claims are false. You can vote for the man based on what you think of his politics, but just because he prays does not make him a leader to follow... Osama bin Ladin gets on his knees to pray 5 times a day.

Firstly, I wont vote for him because being pro-choice when governor of MA and suddenly being pro-life when you get national asperations is too convenient for me.

That aside how can you call a Religion that sees God as not being the Alpha and the Omega as good as any Christianity?

“I believe the Mormon faith is as good as any other that believer in Jesus .”

Mormons don’t believe in Jesus of the Gospels. The have a totally different religion based on their own gospel that assigns Christian names to their dieties. That excludes them from being true Christians, and in fact, makes them an antichristian cult.
