HUH??? If what Joseph Smith claimed actually did happen then a large chunk of what Christians believed for the last 2000 years is flat out false! The Mormon concept of God is so foreign to Christianity that the Catholic Church will not recognize Mormon baptisms and insists that all converts from Mormonism must be baptized within the Church. At the root of Mormon teachings are some very anti-Catholic assumptions about the corruption of Christianity.
If you are Catholic then your faith must tell you that Joseph Smiths claims are false. You can vote for the man based on what you think of his politics, but just because he prays does not make him a leader to follow... Osama bin Ladin gets on his knees to pray 5 times a day.
“...but just because he prays does not make him a leader to follow...”
That’s true, religious beliefs should not be a reason to vote either for or against a particular candidate. Plenty of people have found valid political reasons to question or support Romney as a candidate.
Don’t think of them as evil just think of them as lost sheep out in the wilderness who Jesus the good shepherd is calling back.I think Jesus would agree with me.
You are right and I am a Catholic who used to be a Mormon. It being a Mormon, was a youth thing, great people especially helpful for a kid who lived in a home of violence and alcohol. But getting older and mature I never had the desire to return but instead found the Catholic church. When Mormon missionaries come to my door I am always polite and although I respect them for what they are doing I don’t believe in their theology. But there plenty who do not believe as Catholic do,so I guess we will all find out in the end. Pray for Gods Mercy for all of us.
