The abortion debate brought home He and his wife have always been pro-choice; recently, they were forced to make the Choice. By Dan Neil May 6, 2007
MY WIFE AND I just had an abortion. Two, actually. We walked into a doctor's office in downtown Los Angeles with four thriving fetuses two girls and two boys and walked out an hour later with just the girls, whom we will name, if we're lucky enough to keep them, Rosalind and Vivian. Rosalind is my mother's name.
We didn't want to. We didn't mean to. We didn't do anything wrong, which is to say, we did everything right. Four years ago, when Tina and I set out on this journey to have children, such a circumstance was unimaginable. And yet there I was, holding her hand, watching the ultrasound as a needle with potassium chloride found its mark, stopping the heart of one male fetus, then the other, hidden in my wife's suffering belly....

this is why the enemy within is much more abhorent, evil and sinister than the enemy we face from abroad - the war on terror is the war on these shores
This said it all for me:
We don't feel guilty. We don't feel ashamed. We're not even really sad.
Assuming he was telling the truth about this being needed to protect his wife in a high-risk pregnancy, it is callous beyond belief. He watched his son die on ultrasound, but is "not even really sad." Nope, he couldn't wait to go write his column to use his son's death to rail about "gun-toting antiabortion extremists." And what when his daughters ask about their other sister and brother? Will he proudly show them this column so they'd understand he wasn't "even really sad" about their loss?
The Governors Reproductive Health and Privacy Protection Act would expand the current health clause to permit abortions late in pregnancies. The bills re-in-vitro section would give women the right to abort fetuses up to 30 days after full emergence, provided dilation of the birth canal sufficient to allow reinsertion of the fetus head could be achieved.
Wow! What punishment will Mom & Dad mete out when the two that they allowed to live act like kids and make a mess or break something? I mean, that’s “inconvenient,” too. *SMIRK*
Just when you think you’ve met the most selfish people in the world, these two just show up on the doorstep.
Besides the obvious moral atrocities already discussed, here this guy KNEW before getting into the fertilization procedures that having children was (1) dangerous at his age and (2) that there was a chance of multiple births.
Not to mention the fact that, if he had enough money for the fertility treatments (which, in my experience, I know is not covered by even the best medical plans out there and can cost into the tens of thousands), he could have put the money toward the adoption process and not murdered two children in the womb.
Once again, the rationalization that killing in the womb is less of a moral crime than anything occuring outside the womb is beyond comprehension. Especially, in today’s technological age.
G-d bless those children when they are born and may they never experience the psychological damage their parents have exposed them too.
Good grief...he is talking about introducing his daughters to the abortionist one day. This guy is really sick.
Yeah, that's what I was referring to. I should have been more clear.
They COULD have implanted only two embryos, thus no need to kill the extra two.
There are many, many more extremely evil people in the world (including America) than just an occasional Dr. Mengele.
The "medical difficulties" that they would have caused involved the death of all 4 babies. With the mother having serious enough complications to require hospitalization at only 15 weeks of pregnancy, there was virtually no chance of all the babies surviving, a large chance that they would all die, and a certainty that any who survived would have serious mental and physical disabilities. It makes no sense to take a large risk of killing all the babies by trying to keep them growing inside a mother whose body couldn't handle this, and therefore couldn't provide adequate nutrition and oxygen to these way pre-viable fetuses, when they had the option of delivering 2 healthy babies instead.
But killing the kids before they are born is very very different from teaching them how to defend themselves from predators later. If they do not have the chance to live in the outside world, then they will be "safe".
My problem is that this couple put themselves in the position in the first place.
, and there also wouldn’t have been any children for this couple to raise.
Speaking from experience, there are plenty of children in this world to raise. Sometimes, though, you have to give up your selfish desires to raise those who have your genes.

“LOL so true. And how many parents exhibit symptoms during the time their kids are this age? I know I do!”
I can barely complete a thought since the newest baby was born.
I’m surprised I managed to post a thread.
Indeed. A 2 year old who doesn’t display all the symptoms of ADHD urgently needs evaluation by a pediatric development specialist, to determine the cause of the child’s severely abnormal development pattern.
It’ll be great when the girls grow up, “Daddy! Daddy! Will you tell us that wonderful story on how you killed our brothers?” Boy won’t he be just beaming with pride. B@st@rd!
there is a real risk in all pregnancy. Many women experience complications and require hospitalization.
My mother started to bleed when she was only 3 months along with me and had to be hospitalized.
A good physician will take steps to save all lives involved.
It appears this was used not as a last resort, but as a first resort.
And this is besides the point that it is irresponsible to implant four embryos knowing the risks.
