The President and the First lady spent the weekend in Washington.
On Saturday the President went for a bike ride and encouraged fellow Americans to exercise.
On Sunday he talked about the weekend's devastating storms after attending services at Saint John's Church with the First Lady.
Today he welcomed Queen Elizabeth II to the White House during which they inspected the troops and afterwards the Queen and President Bush went on of her customodary walkabouts and met with local school children and students outside the White House.
This evening the President held a State Dinner at the White House in the Queen's honour. As I am posting there is no photos or guest list on the White House website if this is posted shortly I will will post this on the dose.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
My pleasure
Ooooooo....Laura’s dress is wonderful...that icy blue is perfect for her!
Sorry third
She certainly looks good for 80
LOL - Wolfstar posted the full set yesterday :0)
Absolutely REMARKABLE work. Thank you so very much.
I had to miss today’s festivities, due to Drs appt and then a need to ‘sleep it off’. So I really appreciate all the wonderful pics.
Thank you, again, for a job well done.
No in fact I cannot remember the last time I watched a film at present I feel more in the documentary or information type mood.
Nice crown!! Are those the crown jewels???
Amen
I’m glad you mentioned that SCB. If memory serves me right, I believe the Queen was a driver and mechanic during WWII, her part of the war effort. They had a lot of women doing work like that while the men were off fighting.
Thanks for the Dose tonight, Snugs and how appropriate you posted it.
Many great photos, the four of them look very nice together.
I do not care for wearing hats myself but somehow I think they set off an ocassion I cannot imagine a State event or even a wedding in Britain without them.
Lynne Cheney looks devine in that soft green. Wow.
81! Good character, and good clothes.
And how fortunate we are in the various mediums we have to record it.
I think you are right - I have never noticed before I wonder if he always wears his tie like that.
Laura Bush looks stunning! I’m sure she enjoyed the company Prince Philip, who’s reputed to be quite a card.
"By Jove George, that Clinton woman is just bloody ugly".
I think I wondered whether he was up to walking around Jamestown as in the initial photos he did not appear but in later ones he did appear probably just the photos submitted did not include him.
A lady and her handbag will not be parted LOL.
I know...I definitely can’t imagine the Queen without them...or her purse. :D
She is very regal, especially for the dinner.
