Queen Elizabeth II drinks a glass of white wine during a toast with U.S. President George W. Bush (not pictured) at a state dinner in the State Dining room of the White House in Washington, May 7, 2007
Are the decorations on Queen Elizabeth’s sash merely decorative, or do they represent her position or achievments? And, BTW, Laura’s dress is just lovely.

Great job, Snugs! In the last 2 pictures in post 10 Lynne Cheney is pointing you out to her husband and Condi! See, there’s Snugs, the English Cheney Chick, posting these pictures on the Daily Dose! (LOL!)
Thank you Snugs for the great photos of President Bush and Queen Elizabeth. Such a neat lady!
We are so fortunate that we now have a First Lady to be hostess of this state dinner.
absolutely great set of pix....thank you~
how very appropriate you are doing this thread Eleanor.
Good luck tomorrow with the meeting re: day
Comments re: movie The Queen.. I saw it 3 times on big screen & will get the DVD.. yes, re: carrying purse. like a security blankie perhaps?
And Laura's dress is lovely.
More details of the State Dinner which indicates the guest list is secret whether this means it will not be published full stop or whether it will be released later tonight only time will tell.

Welcome Queen Elizabeth. Gotta love the pomp and circumstance.
Oh, and Condi looks great. Bet she looks even better for the dinner tonight.
LOL - that’s kind of what I thought - habit.
Of course, Dolly, we don’t know if there’s any truth to it.
Did you catch where her car broke down and she said she had been a mechanic?
For the 8 years of clintons, I refused to watch the news or look at pictures of this kind of event. What a relief to have a REAL and decent, good President and First Lady.
The queen’s dresses have all been lovely for this trip. Thanks for an elegant dose tonight snugs. I love the flower arrangements in the state dining room.
I knew you would know what I meant.
Gorgeous table settings.
I would love to be a fly on the wall at that dinner.
I’ll bet the food is scrumptious!
oh darn .. I forget to wait for the all clear with my last post
Sorry :0(
Lynne Cheney is stylin’!
Indeed - you have many photos with which to choose tonight.
