CBNNews.com - Virginia Beach, Va - Before the celebrating came the turning of tassels and accepting this charge:

"I want you to strive for greatness through service," said CBN founder Pat Robertson.

The largest class in Regent's history sang a hymn bowed their heads in prayer.

"Father," prayed Pastor Jack Hayford. "We come with hearts of gratitude for each of these graduates."

{snip}

Some say they were initially skeptical about having a Mormon address a Christian audience.

"There were some people who were alarmed," said Regent graduate Cassy McLauchlin. "I was surprised because I just didn't think he was the speaker we would have here, but they let us know he wasn't coming to speak on any theological issues but he was coming to address us at graduation."

It means that the sae way in which your child can grow up to be like you

You're being a bit wishy-washy in your words. But in effect you are saying that you think you will be a god...correct?

I beg to differ with you there.

Satan is an angelic being turned demonic. Angels are created beings and not children of anything. Christ, of course was and is NOT an angel.

Also, Christians believe that not all humans are children of God and that only those who have accepted Christ as their Savior can lay claim to the title “child of God”.

It is? Since when? How do you know that too?

It's fairly common knowledge for anyone who knows the slightest thing about Mormonism.

I'm surprised you don't know that Mormons teach that Jesus and Satan were brothers if you are a Mormon.

We are all children of God. Including Jesus and Satan.

Wrong. Satan is not a child of God.

Pat Robertson, Regent's President and founder, didn't seem to have any skepticism. Click here for the video. Romney was the first speaker and got a very warm welcome from Mr. Robertson. It was a great speech.

Jesus is God’s “ONLY begotten Son”. John 3:16

Satan is a fallen angel.

We aren’t “traditional Christians”, i.e. we don’t believe in the Trinity Creed.

Do I believe that I will be a god? Hell, I am still trying to work on controlling my temper and a whole list of things. I am not trying to be wishy-washy but it is a complicated subject and you want a simple answer. Yes, then, I do believe that righteous pople dwelling with God will become god-like and He teaches them and shares with them.

You, my jump-to-conclusions friend, are the only one who said or implied I was a Mormon. On the other hand, I have known many Mormons, having grown up in upstate New York near the home of Joseph Smith. When I read your post, I simply went to the Mormon web site and clicked on a link where they reiterated that Christ was the son of God. That may not be Christian enough for you but it’s good enough for me.

We are all children of God. Including Jesus and Satan.

Satan is an arch angel CREATED by God. Jesus is the Word made flesh.

When he was born he was called the Son of God.

However, Jesus said in John 17,5:

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

John 17, 21:

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

You are not straightforward. Mormons teach that they will be gods if they are righteous enough. I believe you know this, don't you?

This is not christian doctrine.

Which means you don’t believe Jesus is God?

From an Islamic website....

Mary — A Righteous Servant of God
The Holy Quran affirms the virgin birth of Jesus, repudiates the notion that Mary was not pious and that her birth was illegitimate. The Quran narrates Mary’s statement to an angel: “How can I have a child when no man has touched me and neither have I been unchaste?” (19:21)

Moreover, it is on account of her piety Chapter 19 in the Quran is named after her, and all pious Muslims are likened to her.

A Very Rare Phenomenon
The virgin birth of Jesus was a miracle, no doubt. But according to the Ahmadiyya Muslim view, miracles always work in accordance with God’s laws, no matter how limited our understanding of those laws are. Modern science has only just begun to study this rare phenomenon.

The Miracles of Jesus in the Holy Quran
The Holy Quran narrates several miracles of Jesus, including his ability to create birds, to cure ailments including blindness and raise the dead to life (Quran 3:50).

Ahmadi Muslims interpret these particular signs metaphorically. The people who accepted Jesus soared high like birds into the spiritual firmament above worldly, base concerns. Similarly in the metaphoric sense, he restored sight to the spiritually blind and life to the spiritually dead.

Jesus himself called the enemies of his day “blind” because of their hypocritical nature in matters of faith (Matthew 23:26). The very nature of his words about healing convey a spiritual change, not physical. It should also be remembered that Jesus spoke in parables, such as the famous line, “let the dead bury their dead” (Matthew 8:22).

The Holy Quran also describes disbelievers as deaf, dumb and blind (Quran 2:19) and the Holy Prophet (SAW) offered them ‘life’ and revival from such death (Quran 8:25).

Convinced of His Innocence
It is notable in the New Testament testimony that Pontius Pilate believed Jesus to be innocent and did not want him executed. One of the influences was a dream Pilate’s wife convincing her of Jesus’ innocence, and the message she passed on to Pilate was “leave that innocent man alone” (Matthew 27:19).

Pilate eventually acquiesced to the demand of the Jews that Jesus be crucified, as a riot was developing. However he then asked for a bowl of water and washed his hands before the crowd and exclaimed “I am innocent of the blood of this man. The responsibility is yours!” (Matthew 27:24)

As a believer I do take issue with them allowing Romney to speak at this event. It is putting a stamp of approval not only on Romney as Presidential Candidate but also on his faith (mormonism). Now what I am going to say may bother some but conservative Christians openly call mormonism a cult. Most mormons I have met have been wonderful people, good citizens, but as a believer I do believe that mormonism is a cult and most mormons do not even realize the Mormon church, the book of mormon or The Bible teaches.

Yes, and Satan was God's son too according to them.

And they also teach they will be gods one day.

"Christian enough"? Not really.

I didn’t come on here to argue and won’t. But you do have to question what the word begotten means. We believe that we were all made spiritually before physically. Jesus is unique.
