A new nationalist party has been founded in Russia seven months before parliamentary elections.

A statement read out at the founding congress of the Great Russia party in Moscow today said the party aims to unite "hundreds of thousands of staunch Russian patriots."

The founders of the party say it is "not a Kremlin project."

In order to register as a party, Great Russia will have to meet stringent criteria, including having at least 5,000 members across Russia.

TOPICS: Russia
KEYWORDS: kremlin; moscow; putin; russia

Russia having another 'front party'.

Actually the key word here is “Nationalists”, which in leftist political lingo always means right-wing fascist, anti-immigrant, and ethnocentric.

Does a 'former' KGB colonel count?

I recall the frothing at the MSM when they labeled Vladimir Zhirinovsky as *cough* ULTRA-nationalist.

That's one step away from the devil...lol

Zhirinovsky one of the leaders in the neo-National Socialist movement in Russia is alive and kicking. The sob even has his own brand of ice cream!

Are the recent actions of the 'Russian nationalist' group NASHI fine with you also? Better do some research prior to issuing statements in public.

No. The soviet-style Communist is usually today the small nation nationalist. Example: The prime minister of Estonia Ancip is the former instructor of Tartu town commitee of Communist Party of Estonia.

I know you like the former communists Estonian nationalists but dislike Russian nationalists. That is because they are Russians, right?

No, more like National Socialism. They aren’t going back to Gosplan anytime soon.

It’s your typical Russian deal. They collapse internally because of internal corruption & decay, have a period of chaos, open up to the West for a few years to get back on their feet, get all xenophobic and militaristic again, close up the country, and then re-start the internal corruption & decay cycle.

This has been going on for centuries.

"I know you like the former communists Estonian nationalists but dislike Russian nationalists. That is because they are Russians, right?"

Wrong Comrade, it stems from street thugs and their cult worship of the KGB bully, the one and only Boss, Vlad himself. It that clear now?

There are millions of Russians who perfectly understand KGB Putin is dragging them into neo-Sovietism and do not like it one bit. But since only rampaging pro-Kremlin hooligans such as NASHI, are allowed to 'protest' as they breaking into foreign embassies plus filmed acting like drunken animals, running through the streets, as the Moscow cops allow it, what are Russians to do which want Putin out?

Too bad you are letting your personal naive and anti Russian anti Slavic animosity get in the way of clear conservative thinking.

In fact, Putin resonates with all conservatives around the world. Fortunately the Russian youth group will stand firmly in the way of socialist Soros funded garbage.

"Too bad you are letting your personal naive and anti Russian anti Slavic animosity get in the way of clear conservative thinking."

How is being opposed to the Putin's bullying tactics toward other neighbouring states, coupled with using natural gas as a tool for 'energy blackmail' "anti-Russian & anti-Slavic"?

"In fact, Putin resonates with all conservatives around the world. Fortunately the Russian youth group will stand firmly in the way of socialist Soros funded garbage."

Did you take a poll on FR on whether 'all conservatives support Putin's actions? How about a worldwide poll indicating in 2007 'all conservatives' are just bonkers over Putin's policies?

When was the last time you read Human Events, America's leading conservative weekly? See what conservatives are saying about the problems with Putin they have to say regarding Putin's control over Russia.

Can Russia Find an Alternative to Putin? U.S. Needs to Take Realistic View of Russian Politics

In terms of kapo Soros, he lost million attempting to make quick profits in Russia during 1998 & 1999. Serves him right with throwing money down a rat hole.

Do you really believe American conservatives desire to be linked with a régime which forbids all public demonstrations if they are not fully approved by the Kremlin. Maybe it's fine with you that the three major national Russian TV stations are also Kremlin controlled especially when it comes to 'news reporting'.

Are you cognizant, as many are on FR, of the pro-Putin youth cult called NASHI and their overtly anti-American ideology.

A New Police State (Human Events April - 2007)

Putin sets up youth brigade to tighten grip (2005)

The Kremlin's new commissars (July-2006)

Are you of the opinion Republicans should cheer for a foreign leader who ordered his followers to enter a bordering nation with orders to trigger mass riots? How about a government, in this case Putin's, who continues supplying advanced anti-aircraft weaponry to Iran (& Syria) knowing that sooner or later there will the inevitable confrontation, and those Russian anti-Aircraft weapons 'protecting' Iran's Russian constructed and supervised nuclear (weapons) plants?

Putin has placed in the blood stained hands of Iran's Islamic tyrants, weapons which can shoot down American, Israeli, British or any other ally in the coming 'régime change in Iran.

If you really desire Free Republic's threads relating to the subjects of 'Russia', the Kremlin,' 'pro-Putin NASHI' by all means please research information posted by conservatives prior to incorrectly labeling fellow conservatives on FR.

May be it is news for you, but Zhirinovsky and his “party” was the first project of KGB during “perestroyka” times (LDPR party had registration certificate #1). Average Russian men consider Zhirinovsky like “Kremlin lackey” and no more.
