If the top Democratic hopefuls are under the impression that the way to stop Third Worlders from hating America is to build schools in their countries, they need to think again.
On Tuesday, Senator Clinton floated the idea that we should spend 10 billion dollars over a five year period on schools and teachers in poor nations. The justification for this being that such schools could give children an alternative to the anti-Americanism they are so often steeped in these days. Senators Obama and Edwards are of similar mind as well.

It would seem that more promising strategies would be ones in which America helps...
How about — take a deep breath — eliminating the subsidies to American farmers that keep Third World farmers from being able to make a living selling their products? Or, how about admitting that Rachel Carson was wrong about DDT and restoring its use in African countries to help beat back the malaria epidemic? Then, a targeted effort to resolve the Darfur conflict would be crucial, especially given that, of late, there are small signs of hope there.
Anti-Americanism is not a product of ignorance. Convictions are not always based on the rational: Recently, I met two PhD candidates in linguistics who are avowed creationists. Anti-Americanism is parasitic on obsolete mental hardwiring, and only transformations in the whole of daily experience can reach it.
Gut-level, placard-waving contempt for America in poor countries will ebb only when a generation of people are raised who see America leading fundamental reforms concrete and relevant to the quality of life that human cognition will be unable to iron out the dissonance between the tribalist rhetoric and real life. Mere schoolroom teaching, on the other hand, will make not a dent in the Third World brand of Hating Whitey.

We are doing that in Afghanistan and Iraq right this moment but you won't fund it without loads of pork and politically driven agenda troop withdrawal time lines. And we first need to address the Anti-Americanism in our own liberal schools.
People hate whoever they envy. They’ll hate white people forever.

Seriously, the French hate me but I have relatives buried in French soil who died fighting wars for them.
The Chinese hate me because I am a “Hedgemon” but that’s all I did was oppose their expansionist policies.
The Mexicans hate me because I oppose their illegal entry into this country.
This could go on and on and on but you got the point — I hope.
No surprise. The truth is foolishness (irrational) to those who are perishing.

Hitlery just hired the head of La Raza, the radical, racist “Chicano” group to head her get out the Latino vote campaign. She had better pledge $ for right here first.
Well, I thought they were a Mexican group.
Then they were a Latino group.
At some point a Hispanic group.
Of course they were a minority group.
After the identity crisis they were a “disaffected group”.
And lastly a persecuted group.
Si. You got it all right. La Raza is bad business.
Jeezo peezo. Doesn’t anyone remember the “Yanqui Go Home” demonstrations from the fifties and sixties? We have been hated for a long time. Doesn’t stop people from coming here...but that is mere detail.
The reason they hate us is that they want our stuff. All of it. They can’t figure out how we got it and have come to the eroneous conclusion that we robbed them of it. Look at the Arabs blaming our foreign policy for their troubles. What shoud we do? Stop buying their oil? I could get behind that but I doubt that the result would resemble a resurgence of Arab culture. More like an economic depression that would leave nothing but camel burgers on their table. Goat hash, if you will.
La Raza in Anglo means The Race.
The Race = we are pure as in the Hitler “pure race”?
So tell me how are Mexicans — a mix of Spanish and Indians different from Texans a mix of European and Indian?
Our public schools teach our own kids to hate America. Why should the rest of the world be any different?
Because studies show that creationists tend to be concentrated among those with low levels of education. I remember a study two years ago that said that the group with the highest level of belief in creationism/intelligent design were black women with a HS education or less.

So since we can’t love our country anymore get the job done and teach hate in less than 35 hours and still pay the NEA your dues.
Tends to unsettle them, to say nothing of the tourists who are suddenly more freaked out by me than by a bunch of closet cases selling bean pies in bow ties.
